A great place to enjoy authentic Palembang cuisine in the heart of Jakarta. The restaurant offers a comfortable and clean dining atmosphere, making it suitable for family meals, casual gatherings, or business lunches. The menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of pempek selections, including Kapal Selam, Lenjer, Adaan, and Kulit, along with other Palembang specialties such as Tekwan, Model, and Pindang. Traditional Palembang beverages and desserts are also available, providing a complete culinary experience. What stands out most is the authenticity of the food. The pempek has the right texture. Firm, chewy, and flavorful, while the cuko delivers a balanced combination of sweetness, tanginess, and spiciness. The dishes capture the distinctive flavors of Palembang and are consistently satisfying for anyone looking for genuine South Sumatra cuisine. Another advantage is the reasonable pricing. Portions are generous, and the quality of the food offers excellent value for money, especially considering its central Jakarta location. It is a great option for both a quick meal and a more leisurely dining experience. The location is easy to access and situated in one of Jakarta’s well known culinary districts. While there is no large dedicated parking area, parking is generally available along the surrounding streets, making it relatively convenient for visitors arriving by car. Overall, Pempek Cawan Putih H. Agus Salim is highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic Palembang food, a comfortable dining environment, affordable prices, and a strategic location in Jakarta. The combination of traditional flavors, diverse menu choices, and good value makes it a destination worth visiting.
View on GoogleThis place sells traditional Palembang cuisine called pempek, which is basically a solid fish paste with sweet and acidic vinegar sauce. There are several types of pempek, mostly it's just a variant of size and also whether it contains eggs or not. Located on the busy street of Sabang, the price is reasonable but the taste could've been better, I find that their paste contains more flour than what I prefer. It's still quite tasty though.
View on GoogleThis place is small in Jl. Sabang, more of a casual dining spot and mostly visited by the white collar crowds from surrounding offices and hotels. I really like their plump fish cakes and the tekwan soup is super comforting. If you want a meal that is not too heavy, this is the suitable place. The price was standard (see below).
View on GoogleThey serve Palembang food such as Pempek & Pindang Patin with decent quality however the taste is overrated. Compared to other pempek in town it’s noticeably unremarkable I must say. The texture of their pempek is somehow watery & quality of fish used is also a problem resulting in fishy aroma. The patin fish had strong smell too, fortunately the soup was okay though it wasn’t as tasty as expected. Tried the Tekwan too but again nothing special. Located in the busy street of Sabang they’re never short of customers especially during lunch time as the price is also quite affordable.
