ordered chicken katsu curry, midori salmon roll, matcha ice cream. katsu curry was good, i like how the veggies and onion were still crunchy and not mushy. midori salmon roll, something was off, perhaps too much rice, i couldnt focus on enjoying the taste of salmon and tuna. also, i dont think cooked runa and salmon is a good match in a roll, imo. matcha ice cream was good but it got crystallized. overall, food was so so. atmosphere was really nice. service was great, all their staff are friendly

I dined at Midori Japanese Restaurant on Thursday, 2 April 2026 at around 8 PM, seated at table 18 with two others. The atmosphere was pleasantly lively without being overwhelming, making it a comfortable place to sit, chat, and spend time. The menu is fairly classic, sushi, ramen, soba, nothing overly specialised, but reliable. I requested an off menu dish, Ten Chasoba, and it was kindly accommodated by the supervisor on duty, Ms Imas, who explained the pricing clearly and handled it with professionalism. There was, however, a notable delay. While the rest of our dishes arrived within 10 to 15 minutes, the Ten Chasoba took close to 40 minutes and required multiple follow ups. This could have easily diminished the experience. What truly stood out was how Ms Imas handled the situation. She approached us personally, acknowledged the delay, and offered a complimentary Ogura ice cream. It was a simple gesture, but delivered with sincerity and professionalism. It genuinely turned the mood around. In terms of taste, the chazuke was comforting and savoury, the Ten Chasoba refreshing though the tempura was just decent, and the desserts, including the strawberry shortcake and complimentary watermelon, were light and enjoyable. Pricing is reasonable for the category, with a relatively lower service charge at 15 percent, which is a pleasant surprise. Overall, a solid dining experience elevated by excellent service. Special appreciation to Ms Imas for her composure and attentiveness, it made all the difference.

Had lunch here, I ordered salmon chazuke while my friends ordered unagi chazuke, nasi goreng kecombrang, nasi goreng daun jeruk, and nasi goreng teri. We also had unagi goma roll, chicken karaage, spicy chicken karaage, and ebi furai to share. Salmon chazuke came with 5 thinly sliced of seared salmon, with dashi broth on the side. It was simple and clean tasting and a bit comforting. I only wished it came with thicker slice of salmon. Unagi roll was nice and a bit sweet. I like their original karaage more than their spicy one. Midori ebi furai was okay, though there was some inconsistency between each fritter, one was nice with succulent ebi and even crumbs, the other one was much more drier. I also had their mochi tiramisu ice cream which was average. Overall i like the simplicity of the taste and interior but not sure if i want to comeback.

Went to this Japanese restaurant with my colleague for lunch as it is near to the hotel i am staying for my business trip which is Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim. This restaurant had a very calm and quiet atmosphere. The salmon sashimi we ordered was fresh and the rest of the dishes had great taste as well. Service was good and order came very promptly.

It has been a while since I ate at this branch of Midori. Now, the restaurant is looking more spacious and also has an adjoining coffee shop which offers varieties of Indonesian food and drinks. Went there for lunch on a Sunday, and the place has a continuous flow of guests coming. But no need to fret because they have plenty of seating area. As for the food, got the Salmon Chahan which was done nicely. The rice is well seasoned and also has à generous portion of shredded salmon. Also got the Ebi Tempura, but despite it being my go-to dish, this one is below par. The tempura was all flour and a bit oily, can barely get any prawn inside. For the drink, got myself Creamy Matcha Latte (not sure exactly what it’s called but there’s only 1 in the menu). This is more on the creamy side. The matcha is also not intense. But overall, a nice drink. For dessert, opted for Ogura Ice Cream which is a fave! The ice cream is creamy with plenty of red bean chunks inside. It’s also not too sweet which is always a good thing. The restaurant also provides complimentary watermelon slices by the end of the meal. Just a note, this restaurant doesn’t offer any alcoholic beverages unlike other Japanese restaurants. Also they have a small smoking area outside.
