Two times in a month, am i going to be a regular? Oh, i wish this place is just a walk away from where i live! Tried the konro bakar, both the sambal and the peanut sauce version. I love them both! A portion could easily be enjoyed by 2-3 persons. The sambal is nice and fresh! Not spicy, but rather complimenta the tender meat. The sop konro was superb! Love the thick, aromatic, perfectly seasoned broth. Buras, ketupat, or rice goes perfect with it. You’d end up finishing the whole bowl till there’s no more. Nasi goreng merah is also just perfect in portion in taste. You would take a bite and think, ‘ah, this is real nasi goreng merah’. I like mine with the makassar orange sambal and they have it! Definitely brings back nice memories of Makassar for me! Tried that bandeng bakar as well and, wow, i’m picky about fish, but the sweet-tangy black sauce one hits all the right spot. I loveee it. Now, i usually do not allow myself sugary drinks, but i know markisa is a delicacy in Makassar. So when i’m at Kedai Pelangi, i would not miss their Markisa soda. Let it be a pledge i make for myself. It’s a nice place to share a meal with friends and family. Or maybe, your coworkers too - cz the place seems to always be packed with people having their business talk. Parking could be a problem, but i would say, it is worth the effort.
View on GoogleCame in for lunch. It was empty when i came in. The restaurant smelled of cigarette smoke even though the lower level was air conditioned and supposed to be non-smoking. The upper floor was supposed to be the smoking area. So, the smell was not very pleasing. I also had to ask them to turn on the a/c as it was off when i came in. Service was quick. I ordered flat rice noodles in soup and teh tarik. The food was bland though. The teh tarik needed more sweet and condensed milk. The quality of the food needs to be improved.
View on GoogleKedai Pelangi located at Jl. Kebon Sirih Raya No.7 H ( Ruko on left side before Tugu Tani ). Here served Makassar food. Parking is not too big and easy access Dining area is spacious , clean and neat Take away Mie Goreng Kering and Nasi Goreng Merah
View on GoogleI enjoyed the red fried ricee. It tasted exactly what I expected. The restaurant has a nice, local vibe, and it looks like many people love to grab takeout from here too. It's a great spot!
View on GooglePop over from a “good” dinner but turned out disappointed. The grilled Milkfish is not well prepared with fish scales hidden, a bit dry and tough (overcooked?). The ChapChay is a bit boring and so is the meatball soup. We also ordered a Hokkien mee. Overall, nothing commendable against the higher end pricing.
