Kawisari Cafe and Eatery is easily one of my favorite spots in the area! From the moment you walk in, the warm and incredibly friendly staff make you feel right at home. It’s always lively with a great, diverse crowd—including lots of international visitors—which gives the whole place a welcoming, global vibe. The food is absolutely delicious, packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. Beyond the menu, the atmosphere is something special: the vintage architecture is full of character, charm, and nostalgic details that make for a wonderful dining experience. Being part of the Tugu Kunstkring group, you can really tell they take pride in their quality, rich heritage, and exceptional service. Highly recommended whether you're grabbing a coffee, catching up with friends, or having a memorable meal!

Kawisari Cafe & Eatery is giving cozy in the best way. Really love the vintage-ish style here. Very nostalgic, very “lemme just sit here for 3 more hours” energy. The traditional snacks are actually so good, especially the kue pancong + ice cream. Personal fave and highly recommend. Also, their manual brew selection is pretty interesting, and they’ve got a bar with a bunch of cocktail options too, so there’s basically something for every mood. You can come here anytime, but IMO late afternoon is THE time to go. The lighting gets ridiculously pretty and makes the whole place even more vibey.

Your restaurant staff are amazing—welcoming, helpful, and genuinely hospitable. Honestly, I had nothing bad to say about the Kawisari team. Unfortunately, the parking service completely ruined the experience. I came by motorbike and was directed to the basement. No assistance, no parking ticket, and the person managing the parking area was extremely unfriendly. When I was leaving, I was suddenly stopped and told that parking was Rp10,000. I asked if I could pay by QRIS since I had no cash, security was called over in a way that made me very uncomfortable. - their attitude was like calling a bird, not a human or a colleague in front of me as a guest. Ew The security staff actually apologized to me several times, which I appreciated. I’m not upset about paying Rp10,000. I’m upset about the way it was handled. If guests are expected to pay for parking, there should at least be clear information, a proper ticket, and basic hospitality. But honestly, I couldn’t help thinking: of course it’s okay—but what exactly am I paying for? Rp. 10.000 was charged for parking, with that attitude. As if i had received a valet service. At that point, I might as well have asked someone to valet my tiny motorbike. It’s honestly a shame because the Restaurant staff did such a great job. The parking experience just left a really bad impression.

Kawisari is definitely a must go cafe especially if you like Indonesian traditional dishes. What I would suggest for you to order is their Indonesian snacks such colenak, es tjampoer, etc. The decoration is unique and tend to a traditional vibes. Lots of sofas are provided so you definitely can have chats and snacks for long duration. However, I couldn’t find any rooms/areas with air cond. I went there after dinner time around 9pm and it was still hot even tho fans are everywhere bcz of the humid Jakarta

Found this place on the map and this place does not disappoint at all. The ambiance is very homey and comfortable with beautiful interior decorations. Plenty of seating areas and the best part: foods and drinks! These are even better, very creative yet delicious Indonesian food.
