We had Iftar dinner here with a reservation beforehand to avoid the crowd during that time. Since we were a group of 4, in order to make a reservation, we needed to pay a down payment of IDR 200,000, and the dining duration was 2 hours. Since we had made the reservation, their admin sent us the menu and asked us what to order, so that the foods and drinks would be ready once we arrived. Kedai Tjikini provides mostly provides Indonesian foods and some Dutch, started from the snacks, main dishes, desserts, to the various coffee and non-coffee drinks. This restaurant is located in a pedestrian area surrounded by other restaurants and cafes. When we entered, it felt like visiting a vintage home with its old and mostly wooden interior. Our table was on the second floor. Since we came during Iftar dinner, Kedai Tjikini served free dates and mineral water 😄 Thank you for the compliment. It really helped my friends who were in breakfasting. Let's see what we tried! Gorengan Tiga Serangkai (IDR 35k) A plate consisting of two fried tempeh, beancurd, and banana. A good choice while waiting for the main menu 😁 The fried snacks were less oily, too. Galantin (IDR 65,000) This Dutch-influenced dish consists of a combination of fried meat and chicken, served with fried potatoes, green beans, carrots, broccoli, and a sweet tomato sauce. Recommended for a balance of nutrients! Wedang Ronde (IDR 33,000) I was craving warm wedang ronde that night, so I ordered this one. The warm, round ball was filled with peanuts, chopped bread, sugar palm fruit, and peanuts in a sugar and ginger broth. I found that the round ball had a slightly hard texture, but we could still enjoy it.
View on GoogleOne of the legendary eatery, located in old building, colonial style, providing coffee and indonesian food. Quite expensive, tried the nasi liwet for 59k, its quite delicious, sweet and savoury, tried the soto semarang , the portion is quite small. Nice ambience and good and fast service. Not suitable to bring your car here, but you could park at the menteng huis accross the street.
View on GoogleThis place occupies a beautifully preserved colonial-era building that exudes vintage charm & a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere, offering a wide selection of traditional Indonesian dishes, comforting local favorites, & quality coffee blends. This venue, which has undergone several name changes over the years, continues to celebrate Indonesian culinary heritage with modern touches while maintaining its reputation as a welcoming spot for casual dining, meetings, or simply enjoying a quiet moment in the historic Cikini area. During my last visit, I ordered the Kopi House Blend Tjikini (Vietnam-drip style), Iced Lychee Tea, Hot Lemon Tea, French Fries, & Black Sticky Rice Porridge (Bubur Ketan Item); these drinks & desserts provided a satisfying & flavorful experience that perfectly complemented the cozy heritage surroundings ⭐️⭐️⭐️
View on GoogleThe food could have been hotter. The taste is good, not on the spicy side. excellent for those who cannot stand spicy food. Authentic Indonesia food.
View on Googlejust popped into Kedai Tjikini and liked the classic vintage atmosphere, simple and cozy. I tried the coffee drip, and it was good. The food was okay, decent enough, and the prices are affordable. This place is in the Cikini area, surrounded by many popular coffee shops, so it’s a nice spot to start café hopping. Will explore more around here next time.
