It just eatery with different approach which are get a table first with number, pre order food ingredient before they cook it for you, then self service for rice, sour sop and drink from their vending rack or order again if you know what you want. It is popular for obvious reason , strategic location, decent price and portion with familiar vibe, but don't expect sanitary and uptight eating experience here, that is not what this eatery customers came here for. Also they only accept cash as payment , i have no idea what will happened if a bunch of group eating with large bill but got no enough cash to pay as consequences. Oh yeah they also one of legendary eatery in town with established reputation.

Been here twice, once on a weekday and once on a weekend. If you come on a weekday around Maghrib, food options are already limited, not like during lunchtime. On weekends, it gets super crowded and if you're driving, parking is a struggle and traffic around the area is crazy. As for the food, there’s quite a variety like ayam goreng, ikan asin sepat, paru, sate kulit, liver and gizzard, dendeng, pepes, and all the usual stuff you’d find at a typical Ampera-style place. Prices are reasonable. You get free-flow rice and self-serve sayur asem (but it’s not that flavorful, kinda bland). My favorite is the fried chicken skin (you can request it to be extra crispy), super tasty especially with their spicy sambal dadak or sambal terasi. The only downside is the place gets a bit dirty when it's packed and the floor especially. but the staff are friendly and helpful. One more thing: they don’t take QRIS yet, only cash or bank transfer to BRI.

Food is meh at best, place is disgusting. The food is left open without any cover and there were flies everywhere without any supervision or cover. I had a very basic meal (ayam goreng, tahu, tempe and es the manis) and it cost 48k rupiah, unbelievable. To think that those kind of place would be super cheap but no, it was pricey as hell. Also I got food poisoning afterwards, 0 out of 10 not recommended.

Located right in the heart of Jakarta, it’s super easy to reach via public transport. Just hop on TransJakarta bus 5M or take the KRL and get off at Cikini Station—it’s a short walk from there. Plus, if you’re out and about on the weekend, it’s a solid food stop before/after visiting Perpustakaan TIM, Monas, or the National Library. Came on a weekend evening, and the food selection was still stacked—think pepes ayam, pepes jamur, empal, paru goreng, lele goreng, cumi goreng, ikan goreng, hati goreng, and more. The best part? Rice is self-service and unlimited, and the sambal is served in a massive cobek (perfect for drowning your plate in spicy goodness). The lalapan (fresh veggies) are clean and complete, from cucumber to basil, lettuce, and cabbage. Lowkey sad because I came a bit late and missed out on the sayur asem—but hey, still worth it. Portions here are HUGE, so if you’re planning a big feast with fam or friends, this is the place. Service? Fast and super friendly. If you’re craving authentic Ampera-style Sundanese food in Jakarta, this place is a no-brainer. Just be smart about timing—lunchtime gets packed, so come in the evening or night for a chill experience. Definitely coming back for round two (and hopefully, sayur asem this time!).

Went here just because I saw 7k reviews were left for this place, but it wasn't what I expected. The food was tasteless, but the Sayur asem was okay. Service was below standard. Serving time was okay. The price was affordable, spent only IDR 90k for 2 pax paid only with cash. No card, no QRIS. One thing I'd suggest to improve is the cleanliness. Dirty tissues were all over the floor.
