Great place to visit for people who loves Graves and the macabre. This cemetery is historic and at the same time each grave has their own authentic style. You can walk along the trail and admire the tranquility but there are some mosquitoes too. They have an informative guide that shows you important people in Indonesia's history who are buried here and the authentic tombstone with a story.

Museum Taman Prasasti is a deeply profound, uniquely enchanting, and historically priceless open-air cultural heritage monument located quietly amidst the bustling urban fabric of Central Jakarta. Originally established in the late 1700s as Kerkhof Laenhof, a primary burial ground for prominent Dutch colonial administrators, military officers, noble families, and intellectuals, this site was masterfully transformed into an outdoor museum in 1977, preserving a monumental collection of beautifully preserved artistic headstones, ornate family vaults, and majestic gothic sepulchers. Walking through the antique iron gates of this historic sanctuary feels like stepping directly into a tranquil, mist-shrouded portal to the past, offering an immediate and deeply moving contrast to the chaotic rhythm of the surrounding modern metropolis. The true architectural essence of Museum Taman Prasasti lies in the extraordinary, highly intricate craftsmanship of its collection of hand-carved natural stone, imported marble, and solid cast-iron gravestones. The museum showcases a stunning array of artistic design movements from the 18th and 19th centuries, ranging from solemn, weeping neo-gothic angel sculptures and classical Roman obelisks to highly symbolic coat-of-arms engravings that reflect the rich personal history and lineage of the individuals commemorated. Notable historical figures, including Olivia Mariamne Raffles (the beloved wife of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles) and the inspiring activist Soe Hok Gie, find their resting stories beautifully immortalized here. The layout of the open-air gallery is incredibly poetic, with the moss-covered stone monuments nestled gracefully beneath a dense, majestic canopy of mature tropical trees that filter the afternoon sunlight into soft, ethereal rays. The park environment is kept in an absolutely immaculate, pristine condition by a dedicated team of heritage curators and gardeners who ensure that the historical integrity of each monument remains protected while preserving a clean, safe, and deeply respectful environment for visitors. Museum Taman Prasasti has rightfully become an absolute haven for local historians, architecture students, sketch artists, and professional photographers who seek a highly aesthetic, moody, and naturally lit historical backdrop for their creative endeavors. The museum also features highly informative, clear historical signage next to major installations, allowing for an enriching, self-guided educational journey through Jakarta's colonial socio-political past. With a highly pocket-friendly entry fee and a peaceful, deeply contemplative atmosphere that calms the soul, this open-air museum stands out as a magnificent five-star cultural treasure that everyone must experience.
