Stopped by Babah Koffie by Kawisari at House of Tugu in Kota Tua, and it was such a great find. The coffee is genuinely good, well-made, and hits the spot perfectly. The place itself has a really cool aesthetic but still feels super cozy—it’s the perfect spot to take a breather after walking around the historical area. To top it all off, the staff provided super friendly and welcoming service throughout the visit. Overall, a really solid cafe to relax with great vibes and excellent coffee. Highly recommended
View on Google⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was looking for local coffee and found Babah Koffie by Kawisari — and I’m so happy I did because this place is truly a gem. It’s not just a café, it’s an experience and such a special vibe. There are so many things to see, admire, and appreciate. Walking around felt like a beautiful blast from the past. I truly appreciate the owner for collecting and preserving these amazing pieces and sharing them with everyone — especially people like me who are curious about and have a deep appreciation for art, culture, history, and local communities. The coffee was superb. The local snacks tasted familiar and comforting, but the presentation was unique and interesting. The food was amazing too. But what made this visit unforgettable was not just the coffee or the beautiful place — it was the people. A big shoutout to Hardi and the whole team for making me feel so welcomed. Since I ordered quite a lot of things (haha), Hardi kindly offered me a complimentary tour of the hotel, café, and restaurant, and it became the highlight of my visit. It was such a delight. We truly took our time exploring, talking, exchanging stories, and appreciating every corner. Hardi explained everything with so much patience and passion. He never made me feel like we were in a hurry — everything was relaxed and perfectly paced. I also loved that I got to share stories from my own travels, which made the experience feel more like a genuine conversation than just a tour. Everyone on the team was incredibly warm and friendly. They made an effort to remember my name, greet me whenever they saw me, and made me feel less like a customer and more like a friend visiting. I ended my day buying coffee to bring home as souvenirs — not only because the coffee was great, but because I wanted to take home a piece of this beautiful memory. Thank you, Hardi and the Babah Koffie by Kawisari team, for reminding me that sometimes the best part of traveling isn’t just the places we visit, but the wonderful people we meet along the way. ☕✨
View on GoogleEnough is said about this amazing restaurant! Every corner you turn are artifacts, various Asian themes, it's overwhelming and exciting, a feast forth eyes. Food wise, it's good with very high prices to match. For the locals, this place is insanely overpriced. We, as tourists, however, find it acceptable. One can't argue or justify that, most people come here to marvel at the arts, rarely pay attention to the price of the food and drinks. I truly enjoy my lunch, and the free tour aroujd the premises, which is actually run as a hotel. There is a sister branch in Malang, East Java.
View on GoogleMy first all 5 stars in a few months. This place is just magical, stunning, beautiful, gorgeous, i mean you call it. Babah Koffie is a must visit when you come to Kota Tua. The owner of this cafe is just “wow”, all the antique stuffs and everything. The food taste really good, i’d suggest you to try the Ginger and lime sorbet. The hospitality of the staff were just 5 stars. I think Babah Koffie is number one on my revisit list.
View on GoogleThe restaurant has such a unique and charming atmosphere! The interior design is full of character — stylish yet cozy with a great vibe. The food is excellent, but the cocktails truly stand out. Each one is incredibly creative, beautifully presented, and packed with interesting flavors. Absolutely worth visiting just for the drinks! The service was outstanding too. The whole team was warm and attentive. Special shoutout to Hardi — he was fantastic and even proactively offered to take photos for us. His kindness really made the experience even better. The location is also perfect. If you’re exploring the old buildings nearby and feeling tired, this is the ideal spot to rest, relax, and enjoy a great drink. You won’t be disappointed! Highly recommended. We’ll definitely be back! 👍
