Djauw Coffee is located in the heart of Glodok / Pecinan (Chinatown), making it a great stop while exploring the area. The coffee itself tastes good, and one of the most unique aspects of the café is their traditional brewing method using hot sand. It was a very interesting experience to watch the preparation process, and it added a distinctive touch to the overall visit. I visited during the weekend, and the dine-in atmosphere was quite comfortable despite the crowd. However, the waiting time was rather long I had to queue for around 40 minutes before my coffee was ready. Although the service felt a bit slow, the experience and quality of the coffee made it worthwhile in the end.
View on GoogleI ordered the Butter Coffee. The ingredients consist of the coffee itself (may be it is robusta, as it is quite bitter), butter, and condensed milk. It only serves hot so the taste is very strong. The coffee is not thick yet it is so tasty and bitter mixed well. We can adjust the sweetness like I did not put all the condensed milk so it is not too sweet. The service is quite fast and responsive even the cafe is quite crowded. Also, the athmosphere is so old school, chinese temporer. It feels like in different country. The cafe maintains very well the building and environment. P.s. i dont order any food :)
View on GoogleDjauw Coffee gave me a really comforting cup that reminded me of the kind of coffee I grew up around. The house blend felt light and easy to drink, not overly strong, which I appreciated. I also liked that the beans were affordable, so it feels like a good option if you want something simple and familiar without spending too much.
View on GoogleGreat breakfast spot around Glodok. Their bread was very soft. Meanwhile the beverage wasn’t too sweet so I like it. The interior was amazing too, it feels like you’re transported to the past. Worth to visit.
View on GoogleOne of the vintage style coffee shops in the Glodok area, this place serves a variety of snacks and classic kopitiam style dishes. Seating on the first floor is quite limited, but there is a more spacious area on the second floor, with separate non-smoking and smoking sections, making it comfortable for hanging out. The main attraction here is their coffee, prepared in a Turkish style and heated using hot sand, which adds a unique experience. We tried the butter coffee, teh tarik, and fried bananas. The butter coffee was well balanced, combining a creamy, savory butter flavor with bold black coffee. The teh tarik was refreshing, not overly sweet, yet nicely creamy. The fried bananas were also enjoyable, crispy on the outside with a rich and savory banana taste inside.
