I’ve been here 4 times already—once every week since they opened—so you know it’s seriously good! The concept is simple but fun: you pick your own ingredients, and then choose how you want them cooked. So far, I’ve tried three styles — the bone broth malatang (perfect for those who can’t handle too much spice, like me), the stir-fry (which seems to be a crowd favorite — I’ve seen so many people order this), and most recently, the Sichuan malatang. Honestly, I thought the Sichuan one would be overwhelmingly spicy, but it was surprisingly well-balanced — super flavorful with just the right amount of heat. What I love is how fresh all the ingredients are, with so many options to choose from. The condiment bar is also impressive — there’s a wide variety of sauces and toppings, and if you’re not sure what to mix, the staff are more than happy to help create a combo for you. Speaking of the staff, they’ve been so friendly and helpful every time I’ve visited, which makes the experience even better. Oh, and a bonus — they offer free refills for rice and tea, which is always a nice touch. Safe to say this has quickly become my go-to hotpot spot. Xiao Gu Jie Jie, you have my heart!

I have already visited this place 3 times and I can say it is consistently great. The place itself was humbly small yet charming. The fragrance of mala is strong and enjoyable. They offered broth or dry options with an adequate amount of choices. The veggies and toppings were not as much as the higher-end place, but it is more than enough for me to enjoy. After all, I came here for the broth. The toppings I usually pick are beef slices, chicken, sausage, fish cake, dried noodles, etc. --- The mala itself is spicy and authentic. The bone broth is flavourful and has a perfect balance of umami and saltiness. All of my picks were cooked well. --- I also bought an ice cream (I never found this ice cream anywhere else). I want to highlight the cheese ice cream because it might look unorthodox to mix strawberry jam with ice cream, but it pairs very well. I am definitely enjoying this. --- Overall, a great dining experience that you should try. The price itself is pretty standard and you can get refillable tea for just 7K. Thanks for the food. 谢谢
