Had dinner at Isshin and overall it was a pretty good experience. We tried the spicy miso udon and tamago don salmon. The spicy miso udon was enjoyable, but honestly the tamago don felt quite average and a bit bland, lacking that savory flavor that makes the dish memorable. That said, the presentation of the food was very well done with clean and appetizing plating. One thing to note is that the restaurant can be a little hard to find at first since the entrance is relatively small and located on the side walkway of the mall. The atmosphere is cozy and suitable for couples or even small families, with both counter seating and regular family tables available. The pricing feels a bit expensive, but it already includes additional charges along with the food and drinks, so it makes more sense afterward. Overall, we still had a great dinner experience here.

Isshin is a comfort food for me and my girlfriend. We loved the experience from the first time we came here, and they’ve consistently served good quality food ever since. We also like the open bar concept, you can watch the chef cook right in front of you. Price wise, it’s really worth it, you actually get more than what you pay for. You’ll get dessert, a main dish, kimchi, chawan mushi, and many more. We’ve tried almost every menu, and everything has been great. Very tasty, and the salmon and beef are always cooked to the perfect tenderness. The service is friendly. The chef always asks whether we want the eggs half-boiled or fully boiled. However, the place is quite small, so there can be a long wait sometimes, so you need to be patient.

I visited during a dinner time on weekday, so its less crowded. Choose to sit in front of the chef while preparing my food. Its an open kitchen so you can see directly and have a conversation with the staffs. I choose the sukiyaki beef with medium rare, Its very balanced with the added kimchi and namul. The meat was also veryyyy tender and delicious. The kimchi wasnt well fermented (not too sour so its great!) and the crispness was also still great. Actually I couldnt finish the rice as its overflowing protein+veggies here and there 😆and there is a pudding waiting. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and probably will visit regularly since its also part of GF Group. The staffs were also so kind and helpful. I quite enjoying them cooking another dishes for other customers.

Isshin Sukiyaki delivers a beautifully composed dining experience where every element speaks the same language of precision and restraint. The Wagyu Don is the centerpiece—richly marbled, tender, and layered with deep umami, offering both indulgence and balance in each bite. This harmony continues through the supporting dishes: appetizers that are clean and well-structured in flavor, a chawan mushi that is impeccably silky and delicate, a matcha pudding that closes the palate with refined bitterness and smooth texture, and an onsen egg executed with perfect consistency, its luscious yolk binding the experience together. The free-flow ocha provides a thoughtful counterpoint, cleansing and refreshing between courses, while the service remains warm, attentive, and intuitively paced. Coupled with an inviting and well-considered atmosphere, the overall experience feels complete, polished, and deeply satisfying—an effortless.

So Isshin recently changed concepts, now they feel more like Sukiyaki Rin, but priced at a better price point for your daily meals and dinners. Good place for a casual date night out on a weekday. Feels like a slice of Japanese counter dining in West Jakarta
