If you’re an intestine lover, this is definitely your kind of place. The queue started even before I arrived, and people just kept coming. No wonder it’s been around for years. For those who are new like me, Songsui is a Teochew style pork soup that’s originally popular in Bangka (Sungailiat). It’s a comforting bowl of clear broth served with your choice of pork cuts. You can order just lean pork, or go for the mixed version, which includes pork, liver, intestine, heart, and even blood cubes if you’re adventurous. If you prefer something heartier, they also have bubur (rice porridge) and songsui mie. I went with the mixed version to experience everything. The broth is clean, peppery, and comforting rather than heavy. The ingredients are cooked simply, letting the freshness of the pork speak for itself. Don’t forget to squeeze the fresh calamansi and add chopped chilies for an extra kick. You can also customize your bowl with extra egg (+Rp6k) or Chinese sausage (lap cheong) if you want something more filling. The place itself is super humble and very old school, so don’t expect fancy interiors. It can get quite hot during peak hours, but that’s honestly part of the experience. Parking is limited, although we still managed to find a spot. They also accept bank transfer, which is convenient. If you’re not used to eating pork offal, I’d recommend starting with the lean pork option first. But if you’re an offal fan, this place is absolutely worth checking out. Simple food, long queues, and generations of loyal customers that usually says everything. 🥣👌
View on Googleone of the good "songsui" specialty. they have complete topping people ussualy order (meat, egg, intestine, blood, etc). located inside a small shop in Jelambar area. the queue always crowded. when order better be very³ specific about size and toppings.
View on GoogleI ordered the regular porridge, but went all in on the Song Sui — 2 jumbo bowls just for myself 😂. The portion is massive, filled with meat, blood, heart, intestines, and more. For those who don’t like organ meats, there’s also a full-meat option. Plus, you can upgrade with toppings like egg or Chinese sausage (lapciong). The taste? Surprisingly delicious. Eating steaming hot broth in hot weather sounds insane, but trust me — it makes the experience even better. The shop is pretty small (about 8 tables), so expect to wait. I queued behind 4 groups and got a table in about 20 minutes. Worth every second. Oh, and don’t miss their green bean juice — super refreshing and a perfect combo with the heavy porridge. Two jumbo bowls + green bean juice = sweat, smiles, and pure satisfaction! 😅👌

View on GoogleWhen my craving for Songsui overcomes the laziness of queuing and the heat, I don’t mind lining up to enjoy the rich broth and tender meat served here. Parking is also fairly convenient, as the road is wide and not too busy.
