Perhaps the only eateries in the area serving Tauto Pekalongan, the unique soup made using tauco, fermented soybean. There are also other Pekalongan delicacies like Megono, Pecak Cucut, as well as snacks and drinks, among them is Kopi Tahlil, which resembles a cross between bandrek and coffee. There are modern contemporary options as well like pisang keju and roti bakar. The restaurant opens at 10, but porridge breakfast is served earlier daily at 6.

I think Pondok Sakpore is the most proper restaurant that sells Pekalongan food in BSD area. There are 2 kinds of megono in their menu, Megono Cecek and Megono Gurih. Both are from Pekalongan, but many other restaurants selling similar cuisine usually only have Megono Cecek. We ordered the package with rice and we were given the option to choose which Megono we want. The Soto Tauto was thick and rich too! The place is quite big with cold air conditioning, but parking is a bit tricky (only street parking). They also have signsture snacks from the Palmes store in Pekalongan & the famous Limau Oriental drinks.

Newly opened Pekalongan restaurant. Very nice and authentic food. Kopi tahlil is a must try if you feel adventorous. The nasi megono cumi package is for you who wants to try several dishes at once.

Their nasi goreng hitam is the best, I haven’t found better one yet. The resto is very nice, but the front is not exactly match the inside. The parking is a bit difficult. But the food is worth the effort. It’s empty here even though its iftar time, so it can be used to have a group iftar here. The only downside is their menu is limited. We get free takjil (caramel pudding) and it’s delicious.
