For some unknown reason this Pempek used to be the OG, go-to snacking place around here, always smelled so fragrant when they prepare pempeks but in the last few months, taste has been going downhill and was just so-so, there wasn’t much fragrance when they were frying it. (used to be smelling so nice and delicious from just outside the store making everyone feeling hungry) .. duck egg pempek used to be good but yesterday it wasn’t up to my expectations.. all in all for a few pieces of Pempek, restaurant bill racked up quite fast for flour based fried food. probably would not come back unless significant changes are made.. or taste is improved.

Just had a quick brunch in this small restaurant that is specializing in Pempek, a traditional food from Palembang/South Sumatera. Pempek is basically fish cake that comes in various forms (lenjer, kulit, telur, keriting, etc.). They will be deep fried and served with sweet vinegar sauce (cuko). I ordered one of each usual type. They were all made and prepared with quality local mackerel meat (daging ikan tenggiri). The fish meat was mixed with the tapioca dough in good proportion as the sweet flavor can easily be tasted in every bite and there was no fishy smell at all. Recommended if you're looking for a quick bite in Gading Serpong. The price and the food quality you get will make it a good value!

Famous pempek or savoury fish cake from Palembang-- South Sumatra. Love the sour sauce (sweet and spicy) and crackers from Belida/tenggiri fish. They provide sour sauce and frozen pempek to be brought home. I usually order kapal selam (chicken or duck egg inside), lenjer, pastel and tekwan. Plus tenggiri and Belida crackers. The waiters serve well when you order the pempek, you should go directly near the cashier. Restroom also clean and provide tissue inside. The pempek is delicious ,there are so many types that can suit your preference. You can also enjoy the 'krupuk tenggiri' while waiting for your food to prepare. Price is reasonable.
