While I was in the Gading Serpong area, I decided to finally give Uri Gukbap a try. Thankfully, there wasn't much of a queue when I arrived. I'm not sure if I came at the right time or if the hype has simply died down. I ordered the Original Gukbap Set, which already comes with banchan and a drink, making it a pretty good value for the price. I was actually planning to order their Kimchi Mandu, but unfortunately it was sold out, which was quite disappointing since it was one of the dishes I was looking forward to the most. As for the gukbap, I thought it was good overall. The broth was clean and comforting, and most importantly, there was no unpleasant pork smell, which I really appreciated. However, if I'm being honest, it didn't leave a strong impression on me. It was a solid bowl, but nothing particularly memorable. The kimchi, on the other hand, wasn't really my style. I personally prefer kimchi with a more pronounced fermented flavor, but this one was very mild—it wasn't particularly sour or sweet, and overall tasted quite light. One thing I did like was the self-service condiment and banchan station, where you can freely refill your side dishes. It's always a nice touch, especially if you're someone who enjoys eating lots of banchan with your meal. Overall, I think Uri Gukbap is a good introduction to gukbap, especially if you're new to Korean cuisine or prefer lighter flavors. Personally, since I eat Korean food quite often, I found it to be good but not particularly outstanding, and there are other gukbap places that I enjoy more.

Definitely try to get here right when they open to skip the long lines! Just a quick heads-up about my taste buds: I'm a big fan of savory, salty flavors and I absolutely cannot handle spicy food. We ordered the original gukbap, spicy gukbap, bossam, and hotteok. My absolute favorite was the spicy gukbap! Don't let the name scare you—it isn't actually spicy at all. It just has a wonderfully rich, umami flavor that hits the spot perfectly. The original gukbap has a lovely rich broth too, though it felt a little plain for me, so you'll definitely want to add your own seasoning at the table to get it just right. The bossam meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, which was great! It is a little mild on its own, and you're meant to pair it with the sauce they provide, but that particular sauce just wasn't really my thing. The hotteok was a nice little bite to finish, even if it was just okay. Overall, a really comforting meal! I highly recommend going straight for that "spicy" gukbap.

I ordered the original gukbap. Portion wise was good, with a decent portion of pork collar. Kimchi was salty, and you can refill it free, as well as for the garlic and chives. Served as a plain soup, you have to add salt / pepper on your own. Tastes good, warm and comforting. For the side dish i ordered the pork belly, and I think it tastes just good. Price wise I think it is reasonable price. Place was clean and most of the dining area is on the 2nd level. Not quite wheelchairs friendly. Service was good. Serving time quite fast. Friendly staffs. Recommend to come earlier otherwise long queue. I waited around 30 mins to get my turn.
