Got to know this place from social media (it was all over tiktok and instagram) and the facade always caught my eye everytime i stroll through hampton, so got interested to try them. Their signature this, as their name suggests, is peri peri chicken, which is an african-portuguese chicken dish marinated in peri-peri chilli, garlic, lemon and other herbs and grilled. When i got there, there were a couple of lines infront but it wasnt too long (only 2 people waiting infront of me) and only took about 20 minutes until we were finally seated. My first impression of the place was that it reminded me of those mexican/portuguese houses with lots of flower vases, jars and family photo frames with mexican music tuning on the background, definitely a spot on mexican atmosphere. We ordered through the screen located right at the entrance, where the owner himself (which was really nice and friendly btw) helped us to explain their signature menu and selections they have. I tried their quarter peri peri chicken, mashed potatoes, and garlic bread. First the chicken, it was served with a side of sambal and aoli sauce which complemented the well marinated chicken perfectly. The spices on the chicken was flavorful and a little bit spicy which was nice, the mashed potatoes didnt taste that creamy tho (more dominant in the taste of boiled potatoes) but it was fine, and the garlic bread was just fine aswell, but it paired really nicely with the mashed potatoes tho (you guys should try the combo imo). Overall a nice experience, will definitely be back 👍
View on GoogleService and atmosphere is good but to bad the food its not up to par. IMO this is not the kind of peri2 chicken i've been eating for the past 20 years. It has been toned down to much to fit the local taste that it lost the originality. The chicken is tender though. Could be just my personal preference in taste.
View on GooglePlease keep in mind, this review is based on my personal taste and preference, which might be different to yours FOOD (4/5) In my opinion the food is good, but i wish it can be more spicy. The chicken is tender and juicy and well prepared. The spices and flavour are great. Unfortunately i don't really like the churros, i find it a little bit hard, maybe it is a little bit overcooked SERVICE (5/5) All of the staffs are doing great for their job, polite and have a great product knowledge ATMOSPHERE (4/5) Seating area are not really that many, but just enough for you to sit and dine. Rooms a little bit noisy, but still in a fair level where you can still converse comfortably
View on GoogleTasty peri-peri chicken, although quite different than my expectation. I expected the peri-perinsauce to be similar with the N***o’s brand which does not exist in Indonesia yet, but it’s not. I like the Lemon Herb Aioli sauce, I think it’s perfect to eat with the chicken and fries. The service is professional too, we took a selfie before eating and the guy behind the bar ducked below so he wouldn’t photobomb us - nice one haha! Unique interior and music playlist too, matches the vibe of the cuisine. Tables for 2 people on the first floor are quite close to one another. The second floor is only available if the first floor is full, which is understandable for the service flow.
View on GoogleThe roasted chicken and pasta were quite good and hit the spot. Service was friendly, too. However, the place gets very crowded with a long queue, so be prepared to wait! A solid choice if you have time. 👍
