If you’re craving authentic Javanese-style grilled chicken, this place is seriously worth checking out. What makes it special is their Ayam Bakar Kuali—the chicken is cooked in a big earthen wok before grilling, so the meat comes out super tender, juicy, and fragrant, with the seasoning fully absorbed. The flavor leans toward sweet and savory, very khas Jawa, and totally comforting. You can choose between regular chicken or free-range (ayam kampung), and the price is surprisingly affordable—under IDR 100k per whole chicken, which is a steal for the quality. Another highlight here is their fresh “roti jadul.” It’s baked on-site, so if you’re dining in the area near the bread section, you’ll be welcomed by that warm, nostalgic bread aroma that instantly makes you hungry. The bread itself is soft, fresh, and generously filled—perfect as a side or takeaway. Service deserves a big thumbs up 👍. The staff are friendly and very attentive. When I arrived, a male staff member warmly greeted me as soon as I got out of the car and guided me into the restaurant. Inside, the female staff took orders with big smiles and delivered the food quickly. It really adds to the overall pleasant dining experience. Quick highlights: Taste & Texture: Perfectly seasoned grilled chicken, tender meat, bold Javanese spices Must-Try Menu: Ayam Bakar Kuali, Paket Semar (served with pecel and fresh veggies), and the roti jadul Price: Very worth it for the portion and quality Ambience: Casual and comfortable, great for lunch or a relaxed meal Bonus point: this restaurant also accepts nasi box orders and buffet catering, making it a solid option for events or office gatherings. Overall, it’s a cozy spot with great food, fair prices, and genuinely warm service—definitely a place I’d come back to. 🍗✨
View on GoogleAyam kwali with honje rice taste good. Their sweet grilled chicken taste sweet and savory. Price for complete package with sayur asem cost 35.000. Super affordable. The toilet and second floor need improvement. Overall ok for budget friendly Indonesian food.
View on GoogleThe ayam kwali & kremes, darn bloody good, no doubt. Nicely seasoned, tender moist meat. Real nice sambal to go with it. The mendoan was way too oily, not to my liking. The pecel, not my cup of tea. Price was fair, serving time pretty swift . Has a bakery too next door, smell of fresh bread out of oven were just too good to pass. Decent bread texture, definitely will return for both.
View on GoogleLove their ayam kwali, it's sweet but provides a balance taste combined with the chili. The chicken is cooked perfectly so the meat is still moist and soft. Their pete is fresh and delicious even without any additional spices. The place is very authentic and beautiful. I would love to come back here to try more menus.
View on GoogleIt's located at Gading Serpong commercial building (Ruko). Easy to find because very big billboard with red colour. Restaurant inside is very simple and bright. Staffs are welcome and responsive. We tried big portion their famous Chicken Kwali, Nasi Kecombrang, Tahu Kriwil and Sayur Asem. All is good and delicious. The price was worth it. They also sell bakery and looks have a lot customers. Highly recommended to try and back again.
