A Javanese reastaurant with a countryside concept. It was humble but we had such a rich experience. Quiet place for a restaurant, despite located in the city. The food also had great taste. We tried nasi gandul, it had a balance of sweet, savory and spicy taste. Mangut manyung is another dish to order. It was a smoked fish cooked in a savory and spicy broth. Great pairings with warm rice and sambal.
View on GoogleI don’t think it’s the same as Kopi Klotok in Jogja, but it’s such an escape from the usual environment in Jakarta/Tangerang and surrounds. Their garden area is spacious. There are many seating options spread across different areas, but it could get really full during lunch time (and really hot too). All of the food was awesome, but they ran out of some menu when we came there. The Telur Barendo ran out really fast and it took some time for them to fry the new ones. There’s a separate booth for Fried Banana and Fried Tempeh in the very back of the place, separated with the rest of the food for whatever reason.
View on GoogleKopi Klotok BSD offers a relaxing atmosphere with a spacious area and a pleasantly cool vibe that makes it perfect for hanging out or casual meetings. The place captures a traditional, homey feel that adds to its charm. The food is tasty and well-prepared, offering a good variety of local dishes, and the coffee is rich and aromatic. It’s a nice spot to unwind, enjoy good food, and take a break from the city’s busy pace. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in BSD.
View on GoogleKopi Klotok BSD is a restaurant serving traditional Central Javanese cuisine, similar to Kopi Klotok in other regions. The name "Klotok" means "boiling coffee over a fire." When the water boils, it usually makes a sound like "klotok klotok klotok" (a Central Javanese term). At first, I thought it would only serve traditional coffee (kopi klotok) and other snacks, but it turns out to be more of a traditional restaurant with a varied menu suitable for family meals. The place is quite spacious, with plenty of pavilions for diners to sit in, some outdoors and some in open pavilions. It brings back memories of my childhood in Central Java. This location is ideal for family gatherings. My recommended dishes are: 1. Mangut manyung fish (delicious because of its smoky flavor) and the broth is also delicious. There's also stingray and catfish. 2. Buffalo meat pindang. 3. Beef gandul rice. 4. Lodeh vegetables. 5. Koyor (a type of muscle soup). 6. Traditional Central Javanese fried tempeh (but not salty enough in my opinion). 7. Other fried foods. 8. Traditional snacks. Overall, the taste is quite good, but my favorite is the mangut manyung fish. The location is on the outskirts of BSD but still very easy to reach by car or motorcycle. There is no public transportation access to this location, but you can use online motorcycle taxis (Gojek or Grab). This location is ideal for cyclists to rest or gather after a ride. There isn't much parking space, maybe around 10 cars, so during busy times, you might park on the side of the road.
View on GoogleQuite different from the original Kopi Klothok in Jogjakarta. The food was okay but the service was a bit slow as the queue became very long during lunch hours. Parking was also a luxury. Good and relaxing ambience though.
