The X Pot - another mala centric restaurant! You could pick the filling of mala soup inside the restaurant and choose how they cook it. They also have the mala xiang guo where they stir fried the whole dish or you could opt for the collagen soup for not spicy option. They also have suan cai yu, or grilled fish served on hot plate and mala soup. We ordered the green mala option and it was spicy yet refreshing. They use gurame fish for the protein and it was nice and affordable compared with other suan cai yu option. Overall the place was nice and the servers are also very nice. It was a good option to have in Eastvara mall.

I’m disappointed with the food. First and foremost, while the interior is nicely done, the food quality is far from it. The soup doesn’t taste like real broth—more like MSG and artificial flavoring. I ordered three types of beef, including wagyu, but none were juicy or flavorful. Even the rice was clearly low quality. The menu selection is also odd. They don’t offer à la carte pots, so we were forced to order a package for four people, even though there were only two of us. Overall, I won’t be coming back.

Great food! Love the mala xiang guo and the collagen soup! Tastier than the original branch!
