I was really excited to try Maguro but was so disappointed by the restaurant. What can i say? It is truly very mid 🥲 The restaurant smelled weird when we were there. It was a mix of fishy / damp and the smell lingered despite there being 3 ACs and several air purifiers running. The menu items were very interesting (which was why we were excited to try) but everything tasted just okay. The don we ordered was very saucy, to the point where we had to remove some of the sauce from the bowl because it was overwhelming. The quality of the fish itself is pretty good for the price. This restaurant is probably more suitable for those of you who enjoy eating fish with a lot of sauce 😬 Sad that i chose to try this restaurant as there are other restos in PIK2 that i also wanted to try.

Maguro has won me over on my very first visit with their fresh and super delicious tuna dishes 😁 Went to this place last week for a very late lunch. Tried their Negitoro Don (with additional raw egg yolk), Otoro Steak served with salt and wasabi, Otoro sashimi (raw fatty tuna) and an a cup of miso soup to warm my belly. Happy to say that everything I ordered was very satisfiying. Enjoyed their tuna so much I even order a portion of Chu Toro sashimi (raw medium fatty tuna) for dessert (seriously). Will definitely return and visit this place again to try their other dishes but next time, will bring my kiddos with me so we can order, try and share everything.

The tuna was fresh and the portion was generous. The price was very reasonable for the quality of tuna offered. However, one downside was that the restaurant smelled quite fishy inside when I visited, which was rather unpleasant.

The tuna was fresh, not a big fan of tuna but this was different. The gyoza was so good, juicy and perfect combined with the sauce. The restaurant is pet friendly, and no queuing because I made the reservation first. Employees are friendly, good service. Thank you for the experience!

As the name implies Maguro is a Japanese restaurant that specializes in Tuna dishes. The highlight and must try dish is their tuna rice bowl (Toro Don), with quite a generous amount of tuna sashimi on top a bed of rice, I recommend you to add raw egg yolk as topping. They also use dried gari not a wet/normal one which intensifies the taste. The tuna is fresh and combine nicely with the tare/special soy sauce. Btw their Tuna menchi katsu also very2 good, crunchy on the outside but still moist inside. Definitely worth a revisit!
