View on GoogleThis bridge presents a unique yet contrasting view, where the beauty of local Balinese architecture blends with iron-heavy security infrastructure. Its smooth asphalt track stretches across a ravine amidst lush tropical foliage, flanked at the edges by black carved stone pillars featuring distinctive Balinese motifs. However, the attention of anyone passing by is immediately drawn to the giant wire mesh fence, over three meters high, curving inward along both sides of the bridge. Behind its curved tunnel-like appearance, this fencing structure plays a crucial role as a fortress for life protection. This tightly designed safety fence, curving inward, was specifically built by the regional government as a firm measure to prevent suicide (ulah pati), in order to block direct access to the steep ravine edge below. The presence of this fence has successfully transformed a once-vulnerable bridge area into a much safer crossing space, while providing peace of mind for locals and tourists passing through. Although it may initially feel protective and strict, the sunlight piercing through the wire mesh gaps creates artistic shadow patterns on the road surface. The combination of modern iron fencing, culturally artistic stone carvings, and the lush green valley background gives this bridge its own aesthetic character. More than just a means of inter-village connectivity, this bridge has become a tangible symbol of care for human safety amidst Bali's majestic natural landscape.
