Had beef steak (actually tasted like dutch-influenced Indonesian biefstuk or bistik). Pretty good 👍🏾 150K++ for 200gr decent-but-a-bit-chewy. 65K++ for 5pcs salmon sashimi which were not too thin ones. ++ : the price is subject to a total 16% tax & service
View on GoogleTonight we had dinner at Oishi with our 2 year old son. The staff were absolutely gorgeous, we received a free pick up from our accomodation, the staff were more than happy to help out with our son, were warm, friendly & engaging. The food was beautiful, fresh with lots of flavours. It felt like such a personable place to dine. Thank you again!
View on GoogleWas recommended this place by a friend and read many good reviews so was excited to try it. Unfortunately, they are far off from Japanese quality or technique. I had the seaweed salad and while the ingredients were novel for a typical seaweed salad it was the large amount of strange dressing that didn’t hit the mark. I also ordered the sushi set with a few types of nigiri and 5 tuna makis. It was the rice that really turned me off. As a sushi lover I know the importance of the rice. It was gummy and missing the fresh essence of Japanese sushi rice, good mirin applied with the correct technique. The pork gyozas were ok. I ate it because I paid for it but I wouldn’t recommend this spot. I wasn’t expecting Japan quality sushi but it wasn’t close to being passable as average sushi. Service was great though and I hope they are able to learn more about sushi rice.
View on GoogleWe probably have high standards for Sushi being from Los Angeles. I would say the Sushi is beautiful in appearance, but didn’t quite work out right. For example, the avocado was crunchy, and one of the other rolls were so slathered in spicy mayonnaise. It was hard to eat much of it. The edamame came without salt and we had to ask for some. Pork and the Ramen was tasty, but not the usual kind of ramen pork. The biggest issue was service, which was extremely slow. Like many places here the waiters avoid making any eye contact after the initial order so I had to get up several times and ask for things like salt or to order another item. I ordered some calamari about halfway through the meal and after 20 minutes, I asked them where it was and they went to check. 20 minutes later (40 minutes after I ordered it), it still had not appeared so I asked them to take it off the bill because we were done with the meal. Not super unusual service for Bali, but still, I had hoped for better attention.
