Visiting Goa Gala-Gala was one of the most fascinating experiences I had in Nusa Lembongan. I was completely mesmerized by the architecture. Knowing that this underground house was carved by hand makes it even more incredible. The site was originally built by a local man named Made Byasa, who spent around 15 years digging and shaping this underground complex starting in 1961. Inspired by stories from the Mahabharata, he created a network of rooms, tunnels, and meditation spaces beneath the ground where he later lived and practiced his spiritual life. During my visit, I had the chance to talk with the owner from the third generation, which made the experience feel even more meaningful. Hearing the story directly from the family gave the place a deeper human connection beyond just being a tourist site. If you enjoy unusual architecture, local history, or cultural stories, Goa Gala-Gala is definitely worth visiting. It’s a small place, but the dedication and spirit behind it are truly impressive 👍🏼

Not the most common attraction you'd expect in such a place. The dungeon is quite deep and long, many compartments and exits. I'd recommend anyone to visit if and when you're tired of the sea or cafes.

Such a unique experience. The current owner is the creator's son. Cost 100,000 each.

Interesting history of underground cave built by hand and crowbar like tool. Once down it is hard to find your way through on very tight bends and low height having to bend continuously. I found an exit before completing the tour through by myself- it's not escorted or a map. 100,000/p
