Snorkeling at Manta Bay is something I can never forget. Swimming with Manta Ray was the highlight for me. Great visual treat. They also have scuba diving and other activities and resorts around. 🫠 don’t miss this on your trip.

One of these days the mantas will get smart and stop coming. Even during low season way too many boats with snorkelers and divers. For snorkelers, be aware that waves are quite rough and lots of surge. For divers, there's not much else to see besides trying to spot mantas. There is a wall located away from the feeding stations and sandy areas with blue spotted rays, flounder and sometime octopus that is worth visiting.

Diving/snorkeling at Manta Point was easily the highlight of my time in Bali. Seeing these majestic, gentle giants glide effortlessly right next to you at the cleaning station is a core memory. The boat ride along the massive limestone cliffs of Nusa Penida is also breathtakingly beautiful. What you need to know before you go: Manta Point vs. Manta Bay: Make sure your boat tour is actually taking you to Manta Point (south of the island). It’s a longer boat ride and often a bit more expensive than Manta Bay, but your chances of seeing massive mantas here are much higher. The Water Conditions: The water here can be surprisingly cold, and the ocean swell can get quite rough. If you are prone to seasickness, definitely take medication before boarding the boat. Crowds: It is a world-famous spot, so it does get very busy with boats and snorkelers. Stay close to your guide and be mindful of other swimmers. 💡 Quick Tip: Go for the early morning tours (around 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM departure). The water is generally calmer, and the mantas are highly active at the cleaning stations. Bring a GoPro if you have one!

Had an amazing dive. Lots of mantas, bamboo sharks, cuddle fish! BUT - there needs to be more local stewardship of this site - permits to limit number of visitors/boats per day, etc. This is an amazing resource, but it's being mismanaged.

incredible to see up close! also saw octopus and snake. downside : so many people:( and visibility was pretty bad, although our dive instructor said it’s very variable. if you have already seen mantas, i would maybe skip this and go to some other dive sites around bali that are incredible. as a first time seeing these wonderful creatures it was amazing, a memory i will treasure forever.
