This restaurant also has a homestay they own and they didn't have many reviews for their homestay, which is typically a red flag. This turned out to be the best decision we made. This is family owned, and we were treated like family. They cut coconuts down for is, gave us free breakfast, were able to rent a motor bike, they are kind souls that aren't there to sell you anything but just to be good humans. The food was delicious, the views are insane and the prices weren't absurd either. Highly recommend this place for both homestay and restaurant. Only feedback is that they need ventilation in their bathrooms but that's just me looking for feedback.

I stayed at Rumah Bagus Jayanti for two nights and it was the perfect landing spot after leaving the busy streets of Ubud. From the moment I arrived, Au and Gunter made me feel genuinely welcome. They are always smiling, resourceful, and eager to help, and their excellent English made communication effortless. Their warmth and hospitality were among the highlights of my stay. Although the property is still relatively new, it is already exceptional. The owners have some exciting plans for further developing the grounds, and I can’t wait to see what it looks like in a year or two when I return. The views from both the restaurant and the rooms are absolutely stunning, overlooking Sidemen’s rice fields, valleys, and surrounding mountains. The spacious balcony was one of my favorite places to unwind, enjoy the scenery, and simply relax. The room and bathroom were both spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything I needed, including tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, and plenty of drinking water. The food deserves special mention. Every meal was prepared fresh by the family and was consistently delicious, generous in portion size, and incredibly affordable. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I’ve had anywhere in Bali. Having breakfast outdoors while overlooking the surrounding nature was a wonderful way to start each day. The level of service went far beyond expectations. When I mentioned that I was interested in getting a massage, they arranged for a therapist to come directly to my room. The one-hour Balinese massage was one of the best and most affordable massages I’ve had in Bali. They also organized a scooter in excellent condition for my day of exploring the village and even provided complimentary transport to my next accommodation nearby. Gunter also works as a driver and has his own vehicle available if guests require transportation, which adds another level of convenience. Everything about this stay felt personal, thoughtful, and authentic. If you’re looking for beautiful views, delicious food, genuine hospitality, and a peaceful place to experience Sidemen, I highly recommend Rumah Bagus Jayanti.

This was hands down the best curry of my life. They make it fresh from their coconuts and it was just so incredibly delicious. Worth the little wait and detour even though it seems very humble at first glance but really can’t recommend it enough! Not to mention the view is pretty amazing too.

BEYOND COMPARE! Gorgeous scooter ride to get there, the view is STUNNING, and the food (taste and presentation) are out of this world—plus totally affordable!!! We’ve been eating our way across Bali, and this is by far the best Balinese we’ve had! The owner is also an absolute love and treated my family like her own and we’ve been back 3 times. Highlight of our trip!

After two weeks in Bali, I was starting to worry a bit. So many warungs—even outside the main tourist spots—felt like they were slowly drifting toward watered-down, overly “Westernised” versions of Indonesian food… lots of butter, less depth, not quite hitting the mark. And then we found this place. Hands down the best warung we’ve been to in Bali. The food is everything you hope for when you come here—fresh, vibrant, full of flavour, and genuinely authentic. Every dish tastes like it’s been made with care and pride, not adapted to suit a generic palate. We’ve ended up eating here most nights (and grabbing takeaway on the others), which says it all. On top of that, it’s incredibly well priced, and the family who own and run it are just lovely—so warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. It feels like being invited into something personal rather than just another place to eat. What I really love is that they strike the balance perfectly—if you want something more Western-leaning, they can do that too—but they absolutely don’t lose the soul of the food in the process. A genuinely special find. If you’re anywhere nearby, go.
