We visited Taru Agro Coffee Plantation today and had a lovely experience. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, taking the time to explain their process and how the magic behind their coffees happen. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and their animals are so friendly - you instantly feel good being there. We booked this visit through a third party, so we are not entirely sure how much money the plantation actually receives. Because of that, the sales portion felt a little too pushy for my liking, but nothing unbearable. Apart from buying a cup of Luwak coffee (which was absolutely worth it!), we didn’t purchase anything else since the tour and the tasting — over 15 little cups of teas and coffees — were fully included. Isn’t that incredible? The tasting itself was a highlight. We got to try everything, from coffees to teas to herbal blends - all unique, all delicious, and beautifully presented. Another favourite moment was enjoying it all from their tree house, tucked in the middle of nature. They’ve also thought through all the practical details with on-site parking available and even have someone guide you out of the lot. Overall, a beautiful stop for coffee, nature and animals lovers like us.
View on GoogleFantastic place! We were greeted by the host who showed us around the plantation, talked about the production process of coffee and tea. Demonstrating all the steps involved and invited us to a tasting of all the drinks, plus the famous Luwak coffee for 50k per person (well worth it). At the end of the tour we were shown to the shop on site selling all the local products such as tea, coffee, aloe Vera etc. They accept card payments as well. The cherry on top was the presence of Balinese animals such as the Luwak and the large flying fox bat.
View on Googlethe place is authentic, the staff is friendly, the products are good. I've been coming back for years to enjoy the friendship for an hour. of course, this is not the cheapest place, if you're looking for the cheapest, you should walk over to the nearest discount store back home!
View on GoogleWe had extra time in the day and decided to stop. While some might feel this is a tourist trap, we appreciated learning about coffee, seeing the luwak (mongoose), tasting samples of coffee and tea while sitting on a patio in the trees. The women that helped us were very nice. We were not pressured to buy anything.
View on GoogleGreat coffee. Interesting experience. No doubt, but obviously a local scam to get tourist there by taxi drivers for a kick back. Small “farm”, but over all, good. Coffee and tea samples were amazing. All very sweet, but delicious. Nice and friendly staff, big selection of pricy coffee. Got to see a very large, pet fruit bat at the end, weird. If you are into coffee, you have to visit a coffee plantation while in Bali. This place gives you a true Bali experience, no 1st world luxuries here, but you can do a lot worse.
