As a Spanish I can say that food is amazing. This place really have the Spanish roots in every single dish. Definitely is a MUST TRY IN AMED Highlight is the tortilla and pan con tomate, just delicious. The restaurant is very clean and well organized, staff are lovely. Congratulations!!!
View on GoogleAn unforgettable experience at Zaitun in Amed — authentic, warm, and truly special. Now I finally understand what people mean when they talk about genuine Spanish quality and hospitality, even in the heart of Bali. Zaitun is run by a beautiful duo: a Balinese woman and a Spanish owner from Madrid, and that fusion is felt in every detail — from the atmosphere to the food and the service. It had been a long time since we received such close, warm, and heartfelt treatment in a restaurant. The owner and the team made us feel so welcome that, honestly, we could have spent the entire evening just talking with them. He gave us incredible recommendations about Amed, the area, where to go, and what to eat — not in a commercial way, but in a genuinely caring and human way. We originally came just planning to eat a simple rice dish, but the experience quickly turned into something much more memorable. The Spanish tortilla (tortilla de patatas) was outstanding — not just good, but truly authentic, the kind that tastes like it was made by a Spanish grandmother. Rich, comforting, and perfectly executed. The pan con tomate with olive oil was on another level: simple, high-quality, and deeply satisfying. And then, seeing bottles of Ramón Bilbao Rioja wine in Amed, Bali, was simply incredible — rare, unexpected, and a wonderful surprise (especially as it’s one of my favorite wines). A true gem for anyone who appreciates Spanish gastronomy abroad. We also ordered a garlic rice with egg and vegetarian style, which was delicious and very well prepared. In fact, the portions and overall satisfaction were so generous that we ended up taking a curry with coconut milk, vegetables, tofu, and rice to go because we were already completely full. The value for money is more than fair considering the quality, the portions, and the experience as a whole. As a final touch, the staff kindly offered us complimentary watermelon skewers for dessert — a small gesture that perfectly reflects their attention to detail and genuine kindness. Without exaggeration, this has probably been the best restaurant experience we’ve had in Amed. Not just a 10 — a 20. A place you visit for the food, but remember for the people and the soul behind it. Highly recommended.

View on GoogleDuring my vacation in Bali, I spent a few days in Amed and, by chance, discovered this small and charming restaurant that serves Spanish food, among other dishes. I’m usually not a big fan of eating Spanish food outside Spain because, in 90% of the cases, you end up facing reality: either the ingredients aren’t right or the cooks simply don’t know how to prepare it properly. However, this time I was lucky enough to find that remaining 10% that truly knows what they’re doing. In fact, I had to come back the following day because it is authentic Spanish food. The flavors are incredibly well achieved, and it’s clear that the owners know Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine very well. Over the two days, I ordered patatas bravas and potatoes with alioli, homemade croquettes, tuna empanadillas, pork gyozas, Russian salad, Spanish omelette and carbonara pasta (I didn’t take a photo of the pasta and omelette ). As for the staff, the girls were very attentive and polite at all times. They don’t charge the service fee, and precisely because of their friendliness and how good the food was, they truly deserved a generous tip. Payment only in cash. I had not enough, but they drive me to the nearest ATM 😁😁👏🏼👏🏼 Without a doubt, I’ll return the next time I go to Bali, which I hope will be soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
