After being told we could have the beds and umbrellas for free if we ate lunch, we settled in for the say. Contrary to some of the negativity that I decided to read after settling in, the staff were friendly and the service good. Our toasted sandwiches and fries were really tasty. Washed down by cold Bintang This warung is almost in the water I a great snorkeling bay. Toilet is clean in comparison to some and theres a good shower outside to wash off sand.

Warung Ombak has been our go-to place in Amed since to the pandemic to relax, leave our stuff and go snorkeling. Their owner and staff is super friendly and watches your stuff carefully. A day bed is free if you get a lunch or some food. I highly recommend their pepes ikan. It’s out of this world. If you’re walking by or need a spot for snorkeling, I highly recommend this place.

We stopped here before going snorkelling because a staff member invited us in, saying there were free sunbeds and a free shower. We took two sunbeds for our family of four, ordered four mango smoothies and stayed only a short time. When it was time to pay, we were charged an extra 100,000 IDR for the sunbeds because we hadn’t ordered food. This was never mentioned when we arrived. When I explained that this condition had not been communicated calmly and nicely, the response was simply “Not happy? Not happy?” aggressively rather than an apology or explanation. Never again .

I never thought I would leave a 1-star review for this place. I’ve stayed here several times over the past two years, I’ve recommended it on my travel blog, and I’ve sent many friends and readers here because the location is unbeatable. Right on Jemeluk Beach, it’s one of the best places to stay in Amed if you want to snorkel. Sadly, my latest stay completely changed my opinion. The room rates have increased every year, which I completely understand. However, what I don’t understand is why the quality of the rooms has gone in the opposite direction. This year’s room was in noticeably worse condition than before, with mold on the walls, poor maintenance, and an overall feeling that it had been neglected. On the first night, the ceiling started leaking. The water dripping from it was yellow, making it even more unpleasant. Fortunately, it wasn’t directly above my laptop, but it was close enough that I had to worry every time it rained. The leak continued for the remaining two and a half days of my stay. I was repeatedly told it would be fixed, but nothing was ever done. Instead, I spent every night listening to the constant dripping and trying to avoid the puddle growing on the floor. As if that wasn’t enough, one afternoon I was relaxing on the beachfront sunbeds when the staff suddenly started carrying out maintenance work directly above us using hammers and power tools. The noise was incredibly loud and completely ruined the peaceful atmosphere. Surely this kind of work could have been scheduled when guests weren’t relaxing. The breakfast has also gone downhill. Previous years it included fresh fruit, while this time it was much more basic. Considering the room rates have increased every year, the overall value has clearly decreased. What disappointed me the most, however, was the complete lack of customer care. Despite all the inconvenience, there was no attempt to make things right. No discount, no complimentary drink, no gesture of goodwill, nothing. Just a quick apology while charging the full price. After being a loyal returning guest who has promoted this place, recommended it publicly, and brought them new customers over the years, I honestly expected to be treated with a little more respect. It’s a real shame because the location is outstanding, but a beautiful beachfront cannot make up for poor maintenance, declining standards, and a complete lack of care when something goes wrong. After this experience, I can no longer recommend staying here.

Great location just in front of the best snorkeling spot! Pitty the equipment is in a poor condition but for they price it’s still worth it 😉
