Snorkelling in Amed was ok but my expectations were a lot higher given the reviews, but as someone who has snorkelled at nusa penida- it can be a hard act to follow! Fish were plentiful and the underwater temple added a unique element to the snorkelling although our guide reminded us that it is completely non functional and only for display purposes only! But all in all still a worthwhile snorkelling destination and the water is very calm! As a side note there are little things that sting/ bite in the water- it’s tolerable but annoying enough to mention as all the kids kept complaining!

Very cool coral reef, safe to snorkel. It's literally 5-10 m from the shore, at about 1-5m depth depending on the tides with no currents and small waves. Plenty of fish and different other creatures. The temple itself is a bit on the west side of the bay, near the coconut beach warung. The place also serves as a coral school were marine ecologists grow new coral to plant in other places.

Over the past two years, I have visited Amed twice, and the Underwater Temple at Jemeluk Bay is truly beautiful. The water is calm with very little waves, and I highly recommend experiencing the difference between high tide and low tide.

Nice location to snorkel from the beach (short swim). There are several places to rent snorkelling equipment or can go diving with one of the many dive shops.

Jemeluk underwater temple is very charming, located not far from the shore, with numerous and friendly ornamental fish. Fish are very entertaining during the stress of daily activities.
