JFC's chicken was way beyond my expectations. I don't know how Indonesia produces/sources chicken but the meat tasted a lot better than KFC. (Perhaps chickens here are free-range?) The crunchiness is also top-notch. The prep time is fast, almost no wait. The young female staff is very kind and caring. Affordable prices. What could you ask for more from a fast food restaurant? 😋🍗
View on GoogleWe stopped by JFC out of curiosity — thinking, “Hey, maybe it’s Amed’s fun little version of KFC!” Well… it turned out to be more like KFC’s quirky cousin who once saw a picture of fast food and decided to wing it. We ordered a burger and a beef sausage, or at least that’s what the menu claimed. What we actually got was a soft, half-baked bun, a slice of something that resembled ham doing its best beef impression, and enough mayo and ketchup to start a small swimming pool. I had to do a bit of diving to find the meat! The fries? Let’s just say they were a bit too crunchy, like someone mistook “crispy” for “desert sand texture.” Not entirely terrible, but definitely not the golden fries of your dreams. The prices are cheap, so it’s a fun little stop if you’re in the mood for a laugh and a snack — just don’t expect a gourmet meal or Colonel Sanders in flip-flops.
View on GoogleI was ordering my chicken, and I noticed the woman taking plastic bag and dipping it into the cooking oil. It is known that street vendors will take plastic and dip it in the hot cooking oil to tear in brown oil into white oil and it makes the chicken more crispy because the outer coat of the fried chicken is actually plastic.. I was completely blown away that I witnessed this with my own eyes. This is something that normally in Indonesia they do it behind closed doors.. I speak decent Indonesian and I asked her what the hell she was doing, and the woman just looked like deer in the headlights. She was just shocked and she had no answer. She just started giggling and then she went in the back and talked to the person that was cooking the chicken and dipping the plastic in the oil like they’ve just been discovered of doing something horribly wrong because this is toxic, and it will kill people faster than anything else. My best advice is not to eat there. Unless you’re wanting to die soon.
View on GoogleWent there tonight and gotta say, it was actually pretty decent fried Chicken. Well priced and crunchy. The guy who served me was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely eat here again.
View on GoogleCheap. Quite edible. Expectations were low but it was turned out ok. I have had worse fast chicken many times in Indonesia. For the price, it was ok and I was satisfied. Staff were fine. The place seemed popular with the locals. Just don’t go there expecting a gourmet meal. It is what it is.
