I had a wonderful experience with Bali Dive Trek - right from booking to execution. Akshay was very helpful and responsive while I was trying to get information about dives, stay, pickups etc before arriving and I felt fully equipped to have a hassle-free stay before I even stepped foot in Amed. I stayed at the property as well and it was quiet and clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I dived with Fernando and Ludy, and they were both excellent. Nando was a great Deep40 and Nitrox instructor, he is thorough and seems well-practised with everything we needed to get done, so it felt seamless and easy. Meanwhile Ludy is helpful, warm, and patient. They're both also great for cafe recommendations around town ;)
View on GoogleWe just passed our Explorer 30 and Nitrox certifications at this dive center and it was amazing! The chosen dive sites were beautiful, and the whole team was very friendly and highly skilled. A big thank you to Victoria, our dive instructor, and to Cody, who really helped us throughout our dives. They were very caring, great at teaching, and really put us at ease under the water. I highly recommend this center if you’re looking for some great adventures!
View on GoogleAlways a great experience with Bali Dive trek. Did my ANDP, rebreather dives with this outfit and always enjoyed myself. Antoine is an awesome instructor, supported by an equally talented crew including Jelsa, Nando and many others. Big thanks to the support staff like Wayan for making our dives comfortable, warm, well hydrated and fed as always. Will be back again as always
View on GoogleI have a lot to thank this dive centre for, as much of my tech dive training was done here. Antoine is a great diver, but there is much to be desired from his mentorship and fast-paced teaching. I have received a lot of valid feedback, but also unwarranted ones that are personal. It’s regrettable because regionally, he is one of the only few skilled enough to teach courses like Dual rebreather, Mod 3 and more. Much of the staff are otherwise respectful and patient. Akshay and Dom have been very encouraging on my growth as a CCR diver, as I haven’t dove with the Triton for more than a year. They can be strict (as they need to be), but I felt that I was given enough room to breathe and learn. Jelsa, Bali Dive Trek’s divemaster, has been fun to dive with on guided OC tech dives. We did things at a comfortable pace instead of rushing. Also, metal music while prepping for a dive never gets old. Each of them knows Tulamben and Amed dive sites really well, and are knowledgeable in technical diving matters. Their logistics are also well managed and neat, with fruits and towels provided after a dive. I would return again, but I would probably avoid doing courses for the moment unless Akshay or Dom is teaching. EDIT: I didn’t want to bring this up, but the owner just did. When I arrived to rent their rebreathers, they only had 2 units available. I had a refresher with Akshay that went well, but when I followed their instruction and used their rebreather on a fun dive, its computer connector came loose. I’m not certain if I broke it, because this is a rebreather used by a lot of students—and overtime, as people use the rebreather—wires may already be loose. And it’s probably something you can’t maintain on the Triton because it’s a sealed connector. But OK, I paid for it because it was under my care. It costed $500-ish USD total, much of which went to taxes and international couriers. I asked for the receipt relating to those couriers, but I still haven’t got them. I was then given a faulty unit to dive (the screen is already having issues)—fine, that’s the only computer left for the Triton. But when I reach to about 15m, it broke. At least I didn’t pay for this, because the unit is already faulty. So I’m not as immature as Antoine to ascribe blame to anyone. It’s also the responsibility of the business to factor in the cost of repairs and maintenance. I’m not the best or most careful rebreather diver, as I’m still learning. But talk to Antoine yourself and figure out if he’s worth being your instructor—he literally did not address any of the things I talked about in my review except for calling it weird. You be the judge. You’re going to be the student anyway.
View on GoogleI booked the intro to tec course with Bali Dive Trek and have zero regrets! Akshay and Jaelsa were excellent teachers and both through and patient with helping me start the transition from recreational diving to technical diving! Had a great time in my course and stayed on for several days of fun dives too. Can't recommend this dive shop highly enough if you are serious about getting top notch training! Not to mention that the accommodations and food at the resort are excellent and the rest of the staff are too! Will be back for more training!
