Amed Kedai looked promising because it advertised live music, so we stopped for dinner and the band. The first clue should have been that the place was practically empty. After eating there, I understand exactly why. One side of the restaurant was crawling with ants, termites, or whatever biting insects they’re breeding there. Something latched onto my foot and bit hard enough that we immediately moved tables. The “better” side came with a complimentary swarm of mosquitoes because apparently fans and airflow are considered luxury items. I’ve always said that restaurants with nothing but glowing reviews are often hiding something. In this case, that theory was spot on. My wife ordered a Mojito. It was clearly made with Arak, not rum. Staff insisted it was rum, so I asked to see the bottle. Funny thing: there was no rum bottle behind the bar at all. That tells you everything you need to know. Be extremely careful about what you are being served here. We stayed only because the food had already been ordered, and that was another mistake. The meal was genuinely awful — bland, poorly prepared, and not worth finishing. Avoid this place. In my opinion the staff were dishonest, the drinks were misrepresented, the food was rubbish, and the overall experience was one of the worst we have had in Bali. I will be lodging a formal complaint about the drink issue because serving one spirit while claiming it is another is completely unacceptable.

A hidden gem in Amed. This small restaurant serves incredible, authentic food with fantastic flavours. The ingredients are fresh, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to unwind. The service was brilliant, with genuine local hospitality that makes you feel right at home. If you are looking for great food and a lovely vibe in Amed, you need to visit this place. Highly recommended.

Came here for dinner and to watch the live music. I had grilled fish with rice and veg which was amazing! Very fresh and not too spicy. Then I saw someone order banana pancakes and thought I had to try them! The live music started around 8pm and was really great fun. Everyone got up and started dancing.

I spent a lot of time here, the location is superb. It is right on the waterfront. The staff are super friendly. There is a bend on Wednesday night and Saturday night and they are super good.

Great bar with incredible food and super friendly, efficient service. We had fish, ikan bakar kelapa and ikan bakar urab, and both dishes were delicious. The cocktails were also great. Definitely returning if we get back to Ahmed. Thanks for making us feel so welcome!
