If I ever win a lottery, I will build a palace with similar design to this place 🙏🤪🙏 I was so blown away with how expansive and amazing the garden is surrounded by different moats, water fountains, ponds filled with kois. The traditional architecture just make the vibe so magical. My kids and I enjoyed stepping and hopping on the koi pond pedestal steps, it's so fun trying different routes, it's more challenging when there's other tourists on the way 😁. Invite the kois to come and surround you by feeding them and take tons of cool pics. We had so much fun exploring the whole place, finding the pool area for swimming, finding the spring water area, and we also enjoyed Jukung (Balinese traditional fishing boat) ride (roughly only $1-2/person) around the biggest pond. It's such a tourist area but we enjoyed the place to the fullest.
View on GoogleStepping into a royal fairytale — an absolute highlight of East Bali! If you want to experience one of the most unique, serene, and visually spectacular cultural sites in Bali, Tirta Gangga is a must-visit. This former royal water palace is an absolute masterpiece of stone carvings, lush tropical gardens, and pristine, spring-fed pools. Try to plan your visit for early in the morning, ideally before 9:00 AM. Not only will you beat the midday tour crowds, but the morning light reflecting off the water pools is absolutely stunning. The entrance fee is about IDR90,000 but is worth more than other temples like Lempuyung. The fish ponds are really attractive and exciting for the children. The fish food they are selling is IDR10,000 in a small mineral water bottle. Children enjoy feeding the fish. A lots of fish 🐟 Relaxing seeing the fish here and there. While it has become an incredibly popular spot for photography, the expansive layout ensures it retains its historic charm and majestic energy.
View on GoogleTirta Gangga is a beautiful place to visit and well worth adding to your Bali itinerary. The water palace and gardens are peaceful, beautifully maintained, and make for some stunning photographs. The only downside during my visit was that a film crew had closed off part of the site for quite some time. It was a little frustrating, particularly as many visitors had travelled a long way to experience the attraction. At times, it felt as though the production staff had forgotten that tourists were there to enjoy the site too. That said, once filming eased, I was able to fully appreciate the beauty and tranquillity of Tirta Gangga. Overall, I had a very enjoyable visit and would definitely recommend it to anyone exploring East Bali.
View on GoogleWe visited Tirta Gangga first, before going to Lempuyang, on our driver’s recommendation, and it was honestly beautiful. We had breakfast there with the boxed meals provided by our hotel, which we took with us in the morning. It was a very pleasant, calm, and peaceful experience in a really lovely setting. We actually liked it more than Tirta Empul. We’re mentioning this because both are water temples with fountains and pools, which is exactly what we enjoyed the most about them. Speaking of Tirta Empul, there is a very similar temple just a few minutes away called Gunung Kawi Sebatu, which is much larger, much less crowded, and in our opinion even more beautiful and peaceful.
View on GoogleA Beautiful Stop Worth Adding to Your Bali Itinerary If you’re in the area and have time to include a visit to Tirta Gangga, it’s definitely worth stopping by. The gardens are beautiful, well maintained, clean, and perfect for taking photos. The peaceful atmosphere and carefully landscaped grounds make for a very enjoyable visit. It’s not necessarily a destination I would cross the island for, but if you’re already exploring the region, it is absolutely worth adding to your itinerary. A lovely garden, beautiful scenery, and plenty of great photo opportunities. Definitely worth a visit.
