Amaaaazing food and hospitality. Fresh food and cold drinks. Even their hot tea goes down a treat on a warm evening. Highly recommend the ‘balado tuna’. It was so good I had to order it again. Might even have it for breakfast tomorrow!

It started with really good vibes—sunset views, beers, games, great conversations, and a relaxed dinner with friends. Everything felt perfect… until the bill arrived, and we were honestly shocked. We ordered grilled fish and assumed it was 45k per person. Instead, we were charged 800k for just two pieces of grilled fish. At no point was this made clear when ordering. It felt like the restaurant consistently pushed the most expensive options. We ordered what we thought was a basic fried banana, but it came with chocolate on top and cost 30k instead of the expected 10k. Even a Bintang beer was 5k more expensive just because it was Saturday evening, again, not mentioned upfront. Lesson learned: always confirm prices clearly before ordering. If not, you may end up paying far more than expected.

Some of the finest food we’ve had in Bali so far, and super cheap too! I don’t know how they do their tempeh here, but it tastes SO good. The banana leaf in particular was amazing. In our opinion, the food here is better than the Holy Tree - we will be back tomorrow night! Update: we came back the night after. The food is STILL bloody delicious. Can’t speak for meat/fish options, but every vegetarian option we had (and there was lots) was excellent. Wish we were here longer because I would happily go back every day forever…

Absolutely loved the food we ordered at the Bamboo beach bar and restaurant! It’s right next to the beach and a perfect place to hang out before or after surfing. We ordered the butter chicken and soup, both were very tasty! We’ll definitely be coming back during our stay in Medewi!

Be warned - ask for the cost of the Fish of the day or the lobster. We did not - our fault. But I couldn't believe the cost. 600k just for the fish meal (for 2ppl) plus extras it came to 900k. We were floored. Cash only too so we had to go back to our hotel to get money. They should be more upfront... Tasty though!
