Very calm and peaceful place with a beautiful garden. You only hear the sound of nature, however you are super close to Ubud center, art district, the water temple and the Ubud palace. Old but spacious and comfortable rooms. Silent aircon, plenty of space in the bathroom to put your stuff, a plug for shaving equipment and a dressing table for the ladies, and a comfy and huge bed in our bungalow number 2. The host Rai welcomed us very kindly. Perfect place to stay if you want good price quality ratio and don’t expect everything to be brand new.
View on GoogleWe had a wonderful week at Siti Bungalows. We paid US$20 a night with included breakfast on our balcony. The lady managing the property (Made) is simply wonderful - very accommodating, friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. There is also an Italian restaurant on site which is not owned as such by Siti, but you can use their Wifi in the restaurant. Beautiful setting and authentic foods (and wood fired pizzas ... for when you are sick of Nasi Goreng!) The rooms were cleaned every day. The place was always very clean and well cared for. The gardener worked in the lush gardens everyday. It was very quiet, and I swam in the pool and read my book there in GREAT peace & quiet. It is just off the main road, so a walk to everything. We booked a motorbike through Made for US$5/day and also she helped us book a Downhill Cycling tour and also White Water Rafting. Well worth checking out. Enjoy!
View on GoogleThe Han Snel Bungalows was our home for two nights in Ubud Bali. During that time it continued to surprise and delight us, despite the odd mosquito bite. The bungalows and gardens are wonderful works of art blended with nature. I appreciated the pretty stone works and pebble pathways. Our room was perched overlooking a lush creek ravine with a great view. It felt like we were staying in a jungle in the middle of the town. This place is older - and has run down somewhat. The blue sink and toilet and cracked tiles in the bathroom give away it's age - but everything worked. Breakfast served on our front patio was a great start to the day. We were very happy with the guide that staff suggested for seeing the sights of Ubud. At $30CDN we felt the place is a good value. There is a restaurant - but except for a Bintang or two, we chose to eat outside in town. At night I found that my headlamp was very handy for navigating the stone steps leading to our Bungalow - bring some sort of flashlight.
View on GoogleWe booked 3 nights through Booking.com, just at day before our arrival. We read positive comments regarding the garden and although we do not care about luxury while backpacking, we do appreciate if there is a pool for some refreshing in the late afternoon. We arrived around 7.15pm and a friendly old man offered the key and showed us our bungalow (nr. 8). Later we asked him to show us the poolarea. Unfortunately the pool wasn't that nice, the poolarea needed an urgent upgrade, the few reclining chairs were green and it's a shame comparing to the lovely garden. When we took a shower before going to sleep, there was no hot water. Because we were tired of travelling, and did not want to leave the room again, we mentioned this shower issue the next day. The lady who runs the management solved the problem immediately!||Room: was basic, clean and fan and airco were ok, a big mirror and closet. Painting was poor maintained, ceiling full of spots. Bathroom was basic but also needed an urgent renovation. View was beautiful, riverside and lots of green (palm)trees. The first morning we saw many squirrels playing hide and seek, great to watch them for almost an hour.||Breakfast: was served at our balcony/terrace at the requested time. Toast, egg (on request), jam, butter, fruitsalad and tea.||Location is perfect, small, cosy street. Not a lot of traffic, no noise and enough excellent bars and restaurants. Just 5 minutes away from the busy mainroad. We did not realise Ubud is so extremely crowdy and touristic; you can find a tranquil spot if you want to in the yard of Han Snel Bungalow! ||For sure a positive point.||We did pay Rp. 250.000 per night, we loved the quiet and green area, but really hope the management starts with renovation and an upgrade of the poolarea soon!
View on GoogleWe walked in off the street and were able to stay in the twin bungalow (nr.6) for 3 nights at 250.000Rp. There are 8 bungalows in total, scattered thru the most magnificent tropical garden. All bungalows are different, but all have a lovely private terrace with day bed and table/2 chairs. The rooms get cleaned (superficially) on a daily basis, with fresh towels supplied. After scrubbing bathroom and bedroom floor, light switches and door frames and removing years of grime, and killing a few roaches - we were very happy in our large oddly shaped room. The place is actually pretty run down, but has lots of character.||Ceiling fan and aircon kept our rooms at a lovely temperature, without feeling boxed in - as most of the windows had parts that opened with protection of mozzie screens. The bathroom consisted of toilet, wash basin, hand held shower, and mandy! Here too fresh air could circulate. Breakfast was being brought to our verandah every morning. Choice of tea/coffee/Nescafe, fruit juice or fruit salad, banana pancake or egg with toast or Indonesian fried meal. Since we loved this place so much we decided to spend the remainder of our holidays here (an extra 9 days) and the staff was more than helpful changing around a few bookings, so we could stay in our bungalow. The bungalows are on Jl Kajeng, which is a quiet, no thru street off the main street Jl Raya Ubud and there are at least half a dozen very nice cheap restaurants in this street. If you like spending some more, the onsite Italian restaurant, run by Madam Siti (widow of the painter Han Snel) has fabulous meals and a great atmosphere. ||ps. Wifi is now also available without having to leave your verandah (for bungalows 1 to 6 anyway). ||For only $25 a day (aircon, daily breakfast, quiet area, only 10 min walk from the rice fields and 2 minutes from Palace, Market, Jl Monkey Forest) - it is without a doubt the most perfect accommodation in Ubud.
