South American & Japanese fusion dishes served in a simple restaurant with a terrace & sunset views.

Japan and South America are on opposite poles of the world. That’s why their cuisines can merge in an organic yet striking way.

The Sayan House is located a fair distance from the city center, but it offers a beautiful view of the valley. I highly recommend booking in advance for a 5:00 PM or 5:30 PM slot and requesting a seat at the bar area facing the valley. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy your food and drinks while watching the sunset transition into night. They also have a live band, which adds to the great atmosphere. While the environment and views are fantastic, the food is just average and doesn't quite justify the high prices. The pork ribs we ordered were a bit dry, and the chicken nanban was drenched in a sauce that was overly salty. Overall: Come for the breathtaking views and great vibe, but manage your expectations for the food.

The Food & Drinks The food here is quite good—the ingredients are undeniably fresh and the flavors are tasty. While I wouldn't classify it as "exceptional" for the price point, it definitely offers solid value for the quality provided. A personal highlight was the Forest Kombucha absolutely delicious and refreshing. Just a heads-up: if you are craving the ribs, be aware they aren't available during the afternoon. After we paid, we been told there is a The Atmosphere The view is simply stunning. It is a fantastic place to relax, chill out, and enjoy a drink while taking in the scenery. Service & Experience (The Letdowns) Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the view. • Proactivity: Upon arrival, we were only given the drinks menu. We had to specifically ask for the dinner menu later, as the staff seemed quite distracted and weren't paying attention to our table. • Birthday Recognition: We had mentioned a birthday celebration in our reservation. We watched the staff sing "Happy Birthday" to a Western table right next to us, but not sure if you have to book for it. Overall: Go for the views and the kombucha, but be prepared to be very proactive with the staff to get what you need.

Spending my last evening in Bali at Sayan Valley Restaurant was truly a blessing. I was worried that I wouldn’t make it in time for my reservation because of the traffic, so I came here by scooter. But the moment I arrived, I could hardly believe my eyes—the view was absolutely breathtaking. The food was delicious, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the sunset looked like a painting. It was the perfect way to spend my last evening in Bali, and I know I will remember this beautiful experience for a very long time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An unforgettable sunset dinner in Bali! 🌅🍣🍹 Sayan House was easily one of our favorite dining experiences in Bali. If you're planning to visit, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance, especially around sunset. We booked a 5:00 PM reservation, which was perfect since the sun started setting around 6:00–6:30 PM. The views during golden hour were absolutely stunning and made for some amazing photos. It does get busy once the sun starts setting, so I'd recommend taking your pictures a little before sunset to avoid the crowds. We started with the Mulberry cocktail pitcher, which was a fantastic value for sharing, and I also highly recommend the kombucha cocktail. It was refreshing, unique, and one of my favorite drinks of the evening. For appetizers, we ordered the Ceviche del Mar, which was incredibly fresh and full of bright flavors, followed by the Los Camarones tacos. The shrimp were delicious, but the homemade tortillas completely stole the show. They were soft, fresh, and some of the best I've had. One of my favorite things about Sayan House is that the menu is built around smaller plates, so you can sample a variety of dishes without getting overly full. We tried the Unagi Nigiri, Foie Gras Nigiri, and Sashimi Gunkan. The Unagi Nigiri came with three pieces and had the perfect balance of sweet glazed eel and rice. The Foie Gras Nigiri was rich, buttery, and an unforgettable bite. The Sashimi Gunkan was paired with black rock salt, which added a unique touch while letting the freshness of the fish shine through. For dessert, don't skip the Shiro Goma Mangekyō with fresh mango. The creamy sesame paired with the sweet, fresh mango was absolutely incredible and the perfect way to end the meal. The service was just as impressive as the food. Every member of the staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making the entire evening feel special from start to finish. Between the breathtaking sunset views, creative cocktails, beautifully presented dishes, and exceptional service, Sayan House delivered a dining experience we'll remember long after our trip. If you're looking for one of the best sunset restaurants in Ubud with amazing sushi, cocktails, and panoramic views, Sayan House absolutely deserves a spot on your itinerary. We can't wait to come back! 🌴✨

The Sayan House is a fusion restaurant serving up bold and interesting flavours. The cocktails were sensational, and we enjoyed a variety of starters and mains. The steak and ceviche were definite standouts — the flavours were incredible. For mains, the king prawns were delicious, though the rice was a bit too salty for my liking. The spicy chicken ramen was enjoyable as well, but not one for those expecting a traditional ramen experience. The staff were attentive, and the sunset views made the whole experience even more special. Just don’t forget your insect repellent!
