What a lovely local food store. I had not expected much because it seemed not so crowded. But I was then so surprised for the yummy food there, it costed us 215rp ($13) for a big dinner from starter, salad, main courses to healthy lassies for 3 people. The owner is also the chef taking our order and serving dishes to us. This is also what she needs to improve, ‘cause we had to wait a bit long. I would love to share my experience here and hope she can greet more customers.
View on GoogleSo good! The food is so so so good :) We chatted with the owner, lovely lady who came and chatted with us once she had a little bit of time (between cooking). We also chatted with her son and made besties with the really chill and friendly dog, Jackson. Some other customers came in, who weren’t comfortable/scared of the dog, so the owner made sure to call him away, though he came and sat with us, for the good pets. I had one of the best curries I’ve ever had, my friend had the veg version. It’s not a big menu, so perfect for the likes of me to pick from. There are dietary options …. ALLLLL OF IT IS GOOD. So damn good. I really feel this place is underrated, more people who stay in the area should come and enjoy the food here, it’s really well priced and so damn tasty.
View on GoogleMy family of 8 people ate here for dinner. Ibu Sri explained it was just her cooking so wait times would be longer but we were in no rush so happy to wait. She also explained to others that arrived after us that wait times could be up to an hour so they went elsewhere which I thought was fair enough. The place was very low key, not flashy and felt home like and traditional. No loud music or decorations that pander to tourists. It felt authentic. (I'm half Indonesian so can vouch this) . We ordered chicken spring rolls, tempeh and corn fritters to start which were all absolutely excellent. I ordered chicken curry which was also delicious. Others ordered mie goreng, nasi goreng and gado gado. Again my mum, auntie and cousins were eating who are all from East Kalimantan and all their plates were empty! Superb quality of food and well worth the wait. Would go again! Sorry I only have photos of the cute friendly dog.
View on GoogleI must say I am very surprise with all the good reviews. We came here for an early dinner and as soon as we stepped in it felt like we were bothering the owner who was busy with her own activity. She barely said hello and a word when we ordered. Then the food arrived. My vegan curry was served with an extra colony of tiny ants running and swimming in the plate. Not very yummy. It’s a bit of a shame because besides that it tasted quite nice, and I was happy to find vegan options on the menu. Good to note that they only accept cash.
View on GoogleWe came here several nights in a row, as we couldn't get enough! Everything is delicious and great value - the deep fried fritters and other entrees (the stuffed tofu was a surprising standout for us), curries, nasi and mee goreng, and cap cai. The food does take some time to come out, but worth the wait if you're not in a rush!
