The Pont de Campuhan stands as a symbol of unity, where two rivers gracefully intertwine, echoing the sacred narrative spun by Ida Maha Rsi Markandeya. This convergence of flowing waters carries profound spiritual significance, deeply rooted in local beliefs. The carved stones adorning the path towards the river unveil a tapestry of meaningful figures – animals and faces intricately chiseled to convey a rich cultural heritage. As you approach the riverside, the craftsmanship becomes a visual testament to the reverence attached to this juncture. The artistry, often depicting mythical creatures and serene faces, weaves tales of tradition and spirituality. These stone engravings, a homage to the sacred union of the two rivers, echo the profound connection between the physical and spiritual realms. Regrettably, the allure of this sacred site is juxtaposed with a disheartening reality. The beauty of the riverside is marred by the presence of local litter, a poignant reminder of the environmental challenges faced by the area. The juxtaposition of sacred symbolism and environmental neglect creates a complex narrative, urging a collective responsibility to preserve the sanctity of this revered confluence.

Walk down the stairs on the side of the bridge and you won’t regret it. A peaceful barefooted trek at 6 am in the morning where only the locals and avid trekkers are awake, we took the road less travelled. The only heartbreak is the amount of rubbish that gets tipped into the waterways. Go in the morning when the sun has just come up. The sound of the water will soothe your soul. Edit: The bamboo bridge I'm crossing has since been broken. Hoping for it to be fixed, the adventure on the other side is amazing.

As I ventured into the heart of Ubud, I stumbled upon a natural wonder that left me in awe - the Green Tunnel. Located on Ubud Main Street, this tunnel is a lush, verdant passageway created by the jungle on either side of the road. The moment I stepped into this tunnel, I felt transported to a serene and peaceful world, far removed from the bustling streets of Ubud.

You can give this part of the trail a miss. This is a motorway bridge where there are steps to bring you down to the stream. It is extremely rundown and dangerous at some parts. If you are looking for the trail up the hill, don't start from here.
