Probably the best affordable meal I've had in the Ubud area this time around. Cashier speaks English and there is an English menu with prices unlike the other stalls around which don't list prices. Surprisingly affordable (25k for normal and 35k for special). Popular with locals but also foreign tourists. I got the special and tried to pay with a 50 but they wanted smaller bills. If you want to experience authentic Babi Guling like the locals do, Bigul Pinahan is a great place to visit. The food is delicious, the pork is flavorful and well cooked, and you can tell it’s a very authentic Balinese restaurant. One thing to know if you’re not used to Indonesian food: it’s really spicy! 🥵 As a foreigner, I found the spice level quite intense, but it definitely adds to the authentic experience. What I loved most was the atmosphere. This is the kind of place where you’ll mostly find local people, which makes the experience feel genuine and far from the usual tourist restaurants. If you’re looking to discover real Balinese cuisine and don’t mind a bit of heat, Bigul Pinahan is definitely worth a visit. Authentic, delicious, and a great way to eat like a local. 🇮🇩🐖🌶️✨

L I tried babi guling at Bigul Pinahan and it was a great local food experience. The pork was tender and flavorful, with crispy skin that added a nice texture. The portion usually comes with rice, lawar, and sambal, creating a rich and authentic Balinese taste. The place itself is quite simple and local, but that’s part of the charm. If you’re around Ubud and want to try authentic babi guling, this spot is definitely worth visiting. 🐖🍚🔥

We bought the Special Dinners for 35,000 INR each. Drinks extra. Food stall dinner was delicious but pig portions were ironically not pig-sized! Still hungry after dinner 😂😂😂.

One of Ubud's best local street food. Authentic Balinese spices and roast suckling pig. Highly recommended.
