Excellent breakfast options. Ate here the morning after I arrived, and it was so good I ended up coming back two more times during my stay in Ubud. Great coffee too. Located in the quiet, peaceful neighborhood of Nyuh Kuning, which feels far removed from the noisy chaos of Ubud center.

Easily the best flat white in the area but a little inconsistent. I've been here three times. The first was absolutely phenomenal. As good a coffee as I've had in any other third wave place around the world. Perfect ratio of espresso to milk, perfect extraction that really opened up and showcased the flavor of the beans, perfect consistency on the milk. And beautifully presented. The second two times the extraction hasn't been quite so spot on, either a little over or a little under, but still very decent. Shout out for the wait staff who were really friendly. Strong neighbourhood local vibes. Nice view of the park opposite. Definite recommend if you want a nice coffee in this area.

AVOID!!!! Expensive / rats / bad food and service Very disappointing experience at Mother. I ordered the “Badass Egg & Sausage Fry Up” and it was a complete disaster. The waitress informed us they had run out of bacon and offered to double the sausage portion instead, which I agreed to. What arrived was the opposite of that — literally what looked like half a sausage, presented in a way that was completely unappetising and honestly resembled something that had been thrown up. The second dish we ordered was the Hash Eggs Benedict. The “hash” component was nothing like any hash I’ve ever had before. It was more like flat, hard crackers and was completely inedible. What makes the experience even stranger is that this café has such strong reviews. Unfortunately, the food we received was a huge let-down. When we raised our concerns, the staff didn’t seem to understand why we were frustrated, despite the obvious issues with the meals. To make matters worse, we saw two rats running through the restaurant during our visit. In the end, we paid the bill (300k), didn’t eat our food, and left. A very disappointing experience from start to finish. Based on our visit, I would highly recommend avoiding this place.

The caramelised pork and dessert were very culinary, exceptional. The curry was a bit more simple but tasted well. A bit high in price compared to their competitors. The smoothie with peanutbutter and cacao was also very tasty that I took two! Cosy place as well to sit but don't forget your mosquito repellent.

Wonderful restaurant, you have to experience it. The food is delicious, they have meat from grass-fed animals and a good choice of both food and drinks.. We ate there twice already and were thrilled. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff is so kind and attentive and they even had a guitarrist and singer who blew our minds away. Nothing left to ask for. We'll be back. 🤩
