Our local driver took us here, hopefully he got a commission, but this place had so many rooms full of different art pieces. The staff who welcomed us in followed us and answered any questions we had, he wasn’t pushy or overly suggestive. There were some pieces we had seen mass printed in other art markets but others were original, you just have to know what you are looking for. I bought 3 pieces which I was able to bargain for a decent price — definitely cheaper than buying art in the US, but would absolutely recommend to go as low as you can. Overall was a great experience and am curious to see how other art coops sell their art.

An absolute gem! They have a beautiful selection of authentic art and unique souvenirs. I bought a few pieces and was worried about traveling with them, but the staff was amazing. They ensure everything is securely packed and ready for a flight, no matter how big the item is. Highly recommend!

If you are short on time, this could be your one stop shop for picking up some quality art. The prices make it attractive and the quality of work will render it unbuyable in your home country. It is acceptable to bargain (please be respectful while doing so :) I do not recollect the name of the gentleman who accompanied me but I habe his photo attached and highly recommend that you request for him to accompany you if you intend to buy. I recommend spending minimum 2 visits for 3 hours each to pick the art that speaks to you. Good luck !

Just an exceptional experience, and a spectacular place. We stopped at this artist collective on our way from Ubud to Sideman, and it’s easily the most interesting art gallery I’ve ever been to. The grounds are beautiful and the artists are incredibly talented. We ended up purchasing a number of pieces and wish we could have left with more! Will absolutely be back, and can’t recommend highly enough.

Semar Kuning Art Gallery (also known as Semar Kuning Artist Cooperative) is a prominent art collective in Ubud, Bali, representing over one hundred fifty local Balinese artists. It is highly regarded for its vast collection of authentic paintings, ranging from classic traditional Balinese style paintings to modern, contemporary, abstract and pop art. As a cooperative, the gallery supports local creators directly. The prices are widely negotiable, we got our lovely paintings and it sits now on our living room 😍.
