Imade was a wonderful guide and really helped us make the most of our stay in Ubud. We met him by chance and he took us to beautiful traditional rice fields where there were no other tourists. Imade was so knowledgeable about the local area and was very keen to show us the real Ubud. His passion for Ubud and all round positive attitude was infectious. The next day he showed us to a local coffee plantation and even showed us his local temple and home - where we had the best meal of our trip as well as some great conversations. We can't thank him enough such a beautiful, unique experience.

After seeing a handful of reviews, I arranged a tour with Imade in advance during our time in Ubud. Imade is so nice, patient and knowledgeable. He spent the whole day with us taking us around the picturesque Ubud countryside to see rice paddies and waterfalls while teaching us a bit about Balinese nature, culture and traditions. He also invited us into his beautiful family home and to an off the beaten path local warung with very authentic and tasty Balinese food. If you are game to ride a scooter, arrange a tour with Imade, you will be glad you did!

If you’re interested in the real Bali, take this journey with IMade. We spent many hours wandering through the most verdant, lush rice fields hidden just outside of Ubud. As a frequent visitor to Bali over several decades I am always saddened to see more and more areas of rice field destroyed for building development. Taking this slow, leisurely walk with IMade restored my faith that there are many in the community whose priority it is to preserve and work these productive fields for future generations. These rice fields cover a vast area and you will see rice in all its stages of growth. IMade is so happy to share his culture and his knowledge. The subak system of water allocation, discussion of culinary plants found along the way, how to cook them, the role of the Balinese ducks, anything you want to know IMade is your man. Bright and cheerful, great English, we loved it! Suksma IMade 🧡

We wanted to do the Ridgewalk Hike and met the local Imade. We talked and he told us he’d like to show us a hidden spot in the rice fields where no tourists go. We followed him and it was such a beautiful experience. Imade has such a big heart and great knowledge about his land and people. He told me and my girlfriend so much about the plants and Balinese traditions. He never once asked for money. Of course we gave him some after this great private tour as a thank you for his time. If you want to have a memorable experience off the besten path than get in contact with Imade and just ask him for this private rice fields tour. It took us about 1 hour and it’s an easy hike. Have a look at my pictures 🤗 Thank you for everything, Imade 🙏

Don’t trust this guy. We met him on the street and he said he wanted to show us the local rice field. We were thinking to pay him later even though he didn’t mention about the money. However we kinda got scared on the way coz it was quite a remote place from the main street and no one was walking around there. Also it was too far from what he explained and i am pregnant so couldn’t walk that long. so we ended up gave up on the way to go to the rice field. Yet he asked us to pay him!! He didnt even guide us back to the main street! Sigh… it was the worst experience in Ubud.
