I had such an amazing dining experience at Api Jiwa. The 7-course menu was absolutely worth it, and what made the experience even more special was that the chef also served 2 surprise dishes outside of the menu. Every single dish was a success — as a picky eater nothing disappointed me at all. The flavors were incredible, beautifully presented, and felt very luxurious. My favorite was definitely the Keliki Chicken Wings, but honestly everything was so delicious. There wasn’t a single dish that I didn’t enjoy. The service and ambience also made the whole dining experience feel intimate and memorable. Special thanks to Chefs Arvie, Agus, and Kriss, as well as the amazing servers Pak Suka, Era, Suwandi, Suyasa, and the entire team behind the experience for making the evening so special. Highly recommended if you’re in Ubud and looking for a unique and luxurious dining experience

Read the menu, description and was convinced to celebrate a family milestone at Api Jiwa. Environment was nice and honestly required, given it is set in Capella. Food was nice. But, nothing to be wow-ed about. None of the dishes stood out strong and is good at best, not memorable. Cocktail pairing seemed confusing as flavours don't seem to be harmony with the dishes. Overall, it was a nice meal but I will not be back unless the taste changes drastically. Note also, it is sheltered open air dining, and it was pretty warm, so if you intend to dine there be sure to put in a remark to have a fan facing your group of diners.

Dining at Api Jiwa at Capella Ubud was an incredible experience from start to finish. The welcome reception and drink set the tone perfectly, followed by the unique pit fire concept, with a beautiful story behind it that makes the whole evening even more special. The chef was very communicative, funny, and shared great explanations throughout, which made the experience engaging and personal. The food was excellent, creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is intimate and stunning, and the staff were warm and attentive the entire time. Highly recommended for a truly memorable night in Ubud.

I am a resident of Indonesia and live on Bali. I enjoy exploring and experiencing the many different dinning options on the Island. Last week a friend and I had the opportunity to journey to Ubud and eat at Api Jiwa. As much as I have heard about the hotel and restaurant, nothing could have prepared me for the actual “taste” of things to come. It was a rainy night as we drove into the hills. Arriving at Capella, we were greeted by the Chris, the hotel General manager. He made certain we were comfortable in the lobby as we briefly waited for the dinner experience to begin at 7:00pm. Just before the hour, we were escorted to the dinning area and seated at the chef’s table. Each place setting was detailed with the guest’s name. Soon the two chefs entered and introduced themselves and the restaurant concept to the small group of patrons. The first of nine courses was served along with wine paired specifically for the entree. The chef explained the food without distracting us from the moment. Flawless. And so went the evening as we moved carefully thru the various courses and wines. The group was small, but even so I felt as if the chef dedicated the evening to us only. I could easily call this an excellent experience, but in really it was an extraordinary night of incredible details all combined to create an occasion far beyond just a meal. Thank you to Chef Jonhsen , Chef Kris , Pak Suka , Surya and Ayu that made this a night to remember.
