The view is beautiful but don't except to see full blooming rice fields, there's a lot of mud and the trek is a bit demanding. You can use the main entrance near the parking ground or there's a lot of little entrances along the main road. Entrance fee : 50000 rp. Alot of little shop/cafe available insinde. I recommande to juste sit in one and enjoy the view maybe a little walk but no need to do the full trek circuit since it's the same view from all points.
View on GoogleThe Tegalalang Rice Terraces are undoubtedly beautiful and offer the kind of lush green scenery Bali is famous for. The well maintained rice fields, palm trees, and panoramic views make for some great photos. For us personally, however, the area felt far too touristy. While that may not be obvious from the pictures, there were a lot of visitors during our visit. If seeing Bali’s most famous rice terraces is on your list, this is certainly the place to go. But if you are looking for a more authentic experience, we found several rice terraces around Ubud that were just as beautiful, if not more so, and much less crowded. One thing we did not enjoy was the route system. After entering one section, we were not allowed to return the same way and had to take a long detour. In the tropical heat, this was quite uncomfortable. In the end, we even had to take a Grab ride to get back to where we had parked our scooters. The terraces themselves are well maintained and definitely worth seeing. Still, we personally would not visit again, simply because there are many quieter and less commercialized alternatives in the Ubud area that we enjoyed more. 🌾🙏
View on GoogleVery beautiful environment. We didn't get a chance to walk the rice terrace as it was too hot when we arrived. However, we had lunch at the Cafe and just took in the lush setting. It really is something to see and admire the ingenuity of the people who take care of the gorgeous landscape.
View on GoogleI'll admit, I was expecting Tegalalang Rice Terraces to be a little overhyped given how popular they've become on Instagram. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised by just how much I enjoyed the experience. We arrived at around 8:30 am, and I would definitely recommend getting there early. It was still relatively quiet when we arrived, although it was noticeably busier by the time we left about an hour later. We had hired a local driver for the day, and one of the highlights was that he guided us on a walk through the terraces. Experiencing them on foot allowed us to appreciate the landscape from lots of different angles, and he explained how the rice is grown and harvested, which made the visit much more interesting than simply stopping for photos. There were plenty of scenic viewpoints along the walk, as well as the famous Bali swings, flying carpet photo opportunities and other Instagram spots. We chose not to do those, but it was nice to see there were options for anyone wanting those iconic Bali photos. Overall, I found Tegalalang to be much more than just a photo stop. It's a beautiful landscape, fascinating to learn about, and well worth visiting. Arrive early, take the time to walk through the terraces rather than just admiring them from the roadside, and you'll have a fantastic experience.
View on GoogleNice and peaceful environment. Entrance ticket RP50k per person. Extra charges needed for others activities like swing for single, swing for family, Zipline etc. I took the family swing, which cost another RP450k. It is fun playing the family swing. Along the way, you can take a lot nice photos at the photogenic spots. You will get a welcome drink which is Balinese coffee or tea inside the cafe. There's stairs along the way to walk around inside the area. Not very difficult walkway and we just walk wearing a sandle. Toilet is available inside the rice terrace with no extra charges.
