A beautiful and peaceful temple that is absolutely worth visiting. We arrived early in the morning, which meant we could enjoy the grounds before the crowds arrived. The atmosphere was incredibly calm, making it easy to appreciate the stunning Balinese architecture, beautifully maintained gardens, and sacred spring water. The temple is rich in history and culture, with plenty to see as you wander around. Staff were welcoming, everything was well organised, and there were lots of opportunities for photos without feeling rushed. If you’re staying around Ubud, I’d highly recommend arriving early for the best experience. One of Bali’s most memorable and spiritual places.

Beautiful place with a lot of history and cultural significance. It can get quite packed with tourists, but it’s definitely worth visiting. We had a nice guide who made the experience more enjoyable and informative. The only downside was the toilets, which could be much better maintained.

Pura Tirta Empul is one of Bali's most iconic and sacred temples, best known for its holy spring water purification ritual (Melukat) that attracts both locals and visitors from around the world. The entrance fee is IDR 75,000 per person, and a sarong is provided for visitors, making it easy to comply with the temple's dress requirements. Inside the temple, you can admire beautiful examples of traditional Balinese architecture, intricately carved shrines, peaceful courtyards, and lush gardens. The highlight is the sacred purification pools, where visitors line up to participate in the centuries-old cleansing ritual by bathing under a series of holy spring fountains. Even if you don't take part in the ritual yourself, it's a fascinating cultural and spiritual experience to witness. The temple is well maintained and has a serene atmosphere despite being one of Bali's most popular attractions. The temple staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and happy to assist visitors, making the experience feel comfortable and respectful.

Nice to visit, but not a must-see Pura Tirta Empul is a beautiful and culturally significant temple, and it was interesting to see the purification pools and traditional ceremonies. However, if you’re not planning to enter the pool yourself, I don’t think it’s worth the drive compared with some of the other temples in Bali that offer more to see and explore. One downside was that the temple does not accept credit cards, which seems surprising given the thousands of international visitors it receives. Also, there is a long stretch of market stalls at the exit that you have to walk through, and the vendors were quite persistent in approaching us even after we politely said no. Overall, it was nice to experience once, especially if you want to participate in the purification ritual, but there are other temples in Bali that I found more impressive and enjoyable.

Tirta Empul is undoubtedly an important cultural and spiritual site in Bali. The temple complex is beautifully maintained and offers interesting insights into Balinese culture and traditions. Visitors receive a sarong at the entrance, making the visit easy and convenient. We had our own guide with us, who explained the history and significance of the temple in great detail. This made the experience much more interesting and meaningful. Unfortunately, the temple was extremely crowded during our visit. Especially around the purification pools and the most famous areas, there were large numbers of visitors, which made it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere. At times, it felt more like a tourist attraction than a peaceful temple experience. If you would like to visit Tirta Empul, I would recommend coming early in the morning or choosing a less busy time of day. The temple itself is certainly worth seeing, but for us, the crowds took away much of the experience. For that reason, we personally would not visit again, even though we understand why it is considered one of Bali’s most famous and important temples. 🙏🏛️🌿
