As part of our visit to Ubud we had decided we wanted to do a silver making class. After looking around at many options we were recommended Ganeca Silver class in Batuan. The class is a family owned business where the art of silver making has been handed down for generations. The owner Mr Komang talked us through the history of silver making handed down from his father and the process of how they get each piece of silver, right through to the design stage and finished product. You get to design your own piece/s and there are many helpers to help you if needed. They are all so skilled! I designed a ring and earrings, the design to represent my late sister and our Māori whakapapa- and all very reasonably priced! If you are looking at doing a silver class I HIGHLY recommend this one! My kids (age 10 and 13) and I had a wonderful experience here. Komang, the owner, is a great story teller and made the whole experience interesting and educational. We learnt so much and were all very happy with the pieces of Jewellery that we made. After Pak Komang did the opening welcome and introduction session getting us settled in, his wonderful team of staff assisted us with making our designs. They were very attentive and helpful, with the right balance of helping us and letting us participate. My son said there were stages during the session when he thought his ring would not be any good, but that he knew he had to trust in the process. He was astonished with the final outcome and is very proud of his creation. They also offer water colour painting classes and wood carving classes and we plan to go back for those at another time. During our session they served fried bananas and ginger tea, and provided cold drinking water. It was a truly welcoming vibe and we are so glad that we chose this place for the silver class. Someone recommended this silver class to us and we will be sure to recommend to others.

Puriana and his family were absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with such warmth and kindness that it felt like visiting family rather than just attending a class. We were incredibly impressed with the entire process. The experience is truly hands on from start to finish. They guide you through each step of designing and crafting your own silver jewelry while sharing the traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations in Bali. It was fascinating to see how much artistry and skill goes into every piece. What made it even more special was how patient and encouraging they were throughout the class. Whether you are creative or trying something like this for the first time, they make the experience enjoyable and memorable. By the end, you walk away with a beautiful piece of jewelry that you created yourself and a deeper appreciation for Balinese craftsmanship. This was easily one of the most unique and meaningful experiences during our time in Bali. Highly recommend Ganeca Silver Class to anyone visiting Ubud.

Our family of 9 did the silver making class with Ganeca and absolutely loved it. We loved learning about the history, the traditional practices and getting hands on with silver making. Staff were exceptionally helpful. We all walked away with a finished beautiful piece of jewellery. Highly recommend 👌. We also loved the little shop attached where you can purchase finished made products.
