Sunrise Beach in Sanur is a really nice spot if you’re looking for a relaxed beach vibe in Bali. The area feels very walkable, with a long beachfront path that’s great for taking a morning stroll, enjoying the sea breeze, or simply watching the sunrise. It has a laid-back atmosphere, so you can take your time and enjoy the surroundings without feeling rushed. One of the things I like about Sanur is how easy it is to find cafes and restaurants around the beach area. There are plenty of places to stop for coffee, breakfast, lunch, or a casual dinner, so you don’t have to go far when you’re hungry. The combination of the beach, walking paths, and lots of dining options makes the area quite convenient for both tourists and locals. Sanur is also an important departure point for crossing to the Nusa islands, including Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. There are boat services operating from the Sanur area, making it a convenient place to start your island trip. Overall, Sunrise Beach is a great choice if you want a relaxing beach atmosphere while staying close to cafes, restaurants, and transportation to the Nusa islands.

A popular hangout spot in Sanur! The streetwalk is very lively, lined with plenty of places to eat and chill. I recommend visiting in the afternoon, but be prepared as it can get quite crowded. It's a great place for a relaxed stroll while enjoying the beach breeze and the local atmosphere.

⚠️ Serious Safety Issue & Illegal Transport Monopoly at the Harbor I am writing this review to report a very serious safety and transportation issue that tourists are currently facing at this harbor. We were returning from Nusa Lembongan to Bali and tried to use Grab, which is a legal ride-hailing service in Indonesia. However, all cars were blocked from entering the harbor area for nearly 4 kilometers due to a local transport monopoly. At around 11:00 AM under extreme heat, three female travelers were forced to drag heavy luggage and walk for almost one hour just to reach a point where our Grab car could legally stop. This was exhausting and unsafe. What is even more concerning is that when our Grab driver tried to approach closer to pick us up, he was threatened and intimidated by local drivers and forced to leave. During our walk, local drivers continuously followed us, questioned us, and pressured us to use their services, creating a very uncomfortable and unsafe situation. This is not a cultural issue — this is an organized and aggressive restriction of public access that directly affects tourist safety, especially for women. I sincerely hope the local government, transportation authorities, and tourism department will take this issue seriously. Bali is a world-class tourist destination, and situations like this severely damage its international reputation. Tourists deserve safe, fair, and legal transportation options without fear, intimidation, or physical exhaustion.

Busy but fairly clean and no parking so not so chaotic. Really pretty for sunrise and new wide path makes it good walking riding and running.

Sunrise Beach is an amazing place to start the day. The sunrise view is absolutely stunning and totally worth waking up early for. There is a nice jogging track along the beach, perfect for morning exercise while enjoying the sea breeze. The area is also surrounded by many coffee shops and cafés, making it easy to grab breakfast or coffee after a walk. The atmosphere is relaxing, clean, and lively in the morning. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.
