Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Had such a wholesome Babi Guling meal here — almost every part of the pig is put to good use, making for a truly satisfying and authentic meal. A must-try if you’re in the Sanur area. Don’t be put off by the humble outlook of the stall — this is as traditional and authentic as it gets, and a great way to experience Balinese food and culture.
View on GoogleThis was recommended by hotel staff who claimed it is the best babi guling in Bali. There’s a menu but no price list. We had 2 special which has a bit of every variety of pork. It was Idr 110,000 for 2. For the location, I felt the price is over quoted. Since we didn’t ask for the price when we ordered, we just have to accept. The food is not bad. However, we just tried another place so it is not as good. Pesisir is the better one, personal preference. Idr40,000 for each special. Cheaper also.
View on GoogleVery delicious Babi Guling Set Spesial on this side of Jl. Bypass of Sanur. The Set Spesial gives you a taste of the crackling, meat, sausage, soup and a plate of white rice. I loved the Es Daluman Gula Aren, and the boss of the shop is very kind.
View on GoogleWas excited to check out this highly-rated local spot, but was pretty disappointed, food was mediocre at best. I got the Babi Guling Special and a coffee. Some parts of the dish were good, the stuff that seemed to be made more recently, and the spicing was nice on the different sauces. The crispy pork skin was a highlight, along with a few pieces of juicy pork meat. Service was friendly and prompt but almost no English - I asked for milk for my coffee and got confused look, then an acknowledgment but nothing came. The problem was that about half of the items seemed to have been made at least a few hours earlier and left to sit out. Deep fried pork skin or sausage that has been sitting out for a few hours and now lukewarm is not particularly pleasing and texture is seriously degraded vs. fresh to order. Soup was lacking in taste but came with a big pork bone with some decent meat on it. Coffee was of the instant variety, was incredibly sweet and not good to the point I only drank a few sips and left the rest. When you get the food it LOOKS better than it tastes to be honest. Atmosphere is super local, I was the only foreigner there for lunch, and pretty unremarkable, but the music was too loud and too many flies. Overall I would say PASS on this one.
View on GoogleHad my first Babi guling there and it was great, can’t tell what they wrapped in the leaf but it tastes really good, very fulfilling with rice, and the soup also has a flavorful taste even it looks simple, the deep fried pork belly slice is the best
