The location is pretty nice next to the beach. However, the place seems to be neglected that many paintings are dusty and even fading. It's soo sad because I saw his other paintings in another museum and his palette is always mesmerizing, even in this museum. It's heartbreaking that the house and the story of his life initially proudly dedicated as a public museum to share the stories are now abandoned.
View on GoogleI don't recommend going. the ticket is 100k IDR (50k for kids) and there's very little to see. all the paintings etc to see are in one main little structure/room and that's that. there's a pretty garden but it's not worth the money and time.
View on GoogleLe Mayeur Museum is a quiet love letter written in light and sea. Here, time does not rush—it lingers, barefoot on cool stone floors, listening to the whispers of Sanur’s waves. Sunlight slips through open doors and settles gently on canvases, as if the paintings are still breathing, still alive with devotion. Every room feels like a prayer of color and memory: art and life entwined, brushstrokes echoing affection, patience, and wonder. The air carries not only the scent of the ocean, but the intimacy of a home where beauty was once lived, not merely created. Le Mayeur Museum is not just a place to see art— it is a place to feel how love can become eternal when it is painted with sincerity.
View on GoogleSome very beautiful paintings if not in great shape, and detailed murals they are worth seeing. but the English guide spoke like 3 sentences the whole way when she was around, unlike the Japanese-speaking guide. Sure she said "you can ask me any questions" but how am I expected to ask anything when I know nothing about the artist and Im not being told even the most basic info about him? It would actually be a net positive if she wasnt there at all, then there would be more space to roam around in the tight crowded rooms. You dont really get your 100k's worth here.
View on GoogleThe state of this interesting little museum is very sad. Restrooms are appalling, people sleeping around and fish are left to die in the pond as pump is not fixed and hardly any water for them to breathe. I put on the hose which was right there to add water to the pond. 3 dead fishes were removed as I pointed them out. I can't imagine the original owners wanting their home to be in such a state. Never seen such obvious neglect at a tourist attraction in Asia.
