It’s a really nice spacious room and very clean with private balcony with a view over a valley full of clove trees. The owner is very helpful with advice for local walks, and the restaurant terrace views are amazing (we were lucky to be able to see beautiful sunset AND full moon rise almost at the same time).||A few reasons why it was fine for our short 2 night stay, but may not be as suitable for a longer stay:||- It is quite a long steep walk (20-30 min) to the town and back, so most convenient to have all meals here, or you may need to book a driver to take you and bring you back. Not a problem if you have your own transport.||- The internet was unreliable, which was an issue as our Telkomsel SIM also had no reception, making trip planning difficult.||- The food in the restaurant is plain but good home-style cooking, a limited menu and serves are quite small. But if there are others in the restaurant at the same time you may have to wait a long time to be served.
View on GoogleI can wholeheartedly recommend Bali Bening Hotel, especially if you’re looking for genuine hospitality, peaceful surroundings and stunning nature right at your doorstep. See Komoot Trail Melanting Waterfall - Bamboo Forest Trail loop from Munduk What makes this place truly special is the warmth of Madé and his family, who live on the property and create such a personal, welcoming atmosphere. From the very first moment, I felt at home. Madé was always happy to chat, shared insights into Balinese culture and even went out to pick up a local dessert for me to try when he noticed my curiosity. His kindness and willingness to help extended far beyond my stay, which I deeply appreciated. The location is perfect for exploring the area around Munduk on foot. Several beautiful waterfalls are just a short walk away and in the other direction, you can wander through rice fields and small villages, creating wonderful circular routes. Another highlight is the breathtaking view, from both the rooms and the open restaurant. I also really valued the quiet setting, as the hotel is tucked away from the main road, allowing you to fully relax without traffic noise. The freshly prepared food, with authentic Balinese options, was the perfect addition to each day. I spent three wonderful nights here and would return anytime. If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic, and heartfelt place to stay, this is it.
View on GoogleSuch a lovely hotel! Maybe the nicest staff we encountered during our trip. The room was so beautiful and the view was stunning. They also helped us arrange a car to our next stop. Highly recommended!
View on GoogleWe had a wonderful time at Bali Bening. Our spacious bright room was beautifully furnished and super clean, with a nice view from the Balcony. The Host and all of the Staff are super friendly, welcoming and kind. The Restaurant offers very delicious Indonesian and Balinese Dishes with a stunning view over the Hills. The location is not too remote, so the waterfalls and other sights in the area are within easy walking distance. At the same time, you can escape the hustle and bustle of the main road and enjoy the peace and quiet here, especially in the evening. It was definitely the best accommodation on our journey so far.
View on GoogleGood value, simple accommodation off the main road in Munduk. Amazing view from terrace and balcony. Friendly owner who also drove us to Lovina (Munduk is a no-Grab zone). Convenient location for waterfalls walk.
